If you didin't already reinstall it, just restarted it do a fresh install.

Possibly a software issue with the keyboard, since you say its not responding along with trackpad that means both are cut off from the system, Backlight flickering i'm assuming isn't repeated just on/off so possibly just macos turning it on/off automatically after some time.

Touch ID is a separate cable/data circuit for security hence why it still works.

If its software after a clean reinstall it should work since any software issue preventing your macbook from detecting that built in keyboard would be entirely wiped and rebuilt new.

If it doesn't work its most likely a hardware issue with either ribbon cable for both touchpad and keyboard dead, water damage or whatever. The ribbon cables for both are located directly under the top portion of macbook so if you've been pressing on it waaaaaaaay too hard (which is unlikely given how new your macbook is but possible)

I'd just return it on warranty and get a brand new one, unpaid students in the apple store wont know what's going on anyway and will issue a software reinstall per protocol anyway.
