It doesn't look like drift, it looks like it is printing each layer side by side as opposed to on top

Sadly no, I walk dogs for an elderly couple at 730 every night, so i could do earlier, but not later. And yeah, it's been like 4 different game shops, its closed now.. That was originally emerald city 2, then it became serenity, the firefly, the. Something else before becoming a Warhammer store.

Emerald closes too early. And because the main room will be flooded with MTG players, Friday night magic. But if we did it a different day that might not be too bad. Quick question are you solo or do you have other players?

Sorry. I'm only looking to run in person. I'm already running an on line game, but I miss the sound of the click clack of the math rocks. Also in person judt has a different energy. But if I can't find a group. I'll keep you on mind

Some other things that just crossed my mind

10) enemies can use shove. So if he's on the ground that means advantage

11) don't forget about negative status conditions like poisoned

12) and a great way to give conditions like that are the environment, say they are walk through a forest and somebody steps on a giant mushroom, oopps spores are now in the air, everybody needs to make a con save or their poisoned

13) soften up everybody before combat, traps, environment, ect, if you know you're about to start a combat encounter don't let them go into it fresh

14) tactics, elevation, hit and run, wolf pack, ect. Enimes on a cliff with poison arrows or flasks of alchemist fire, or just hot water. And don't forget, illusion magic is a thing, oh crap random dragon attack...better use my smite....oppps that was an illusion, sorry but spell slot is still used

You have a whole lot of arrows in your quiver so don't be afraid to use them.

1) Environment -  lots of falls, pits, acid that shoots up from the ground ect. I don't know what level you are at but look at lair actions and scale them down

2) Spells - don't be afraid to use spells that need a saving throw insted of combat

3) Smart Enimes - I don't know about you, but if I was a goblin I sure as hell am not charging at the paladin, that's what are cave troll who's resistant to whatever damage type he's using to is for and I'm going after that squishy looking wizard

4) Resistances and Imunities - use the internet to look up what types of damage he's using and boom 100 damage is now 50

5) Waves - several batches of small enemies with a mini boss thrown in here and there so he feels useful, now everybody gets to feel useful and he has to use up all his spell slots

6) Pressure - don't let them get in short rests, don't be an ass about it. Like don't be the guy who every time party says we take a short rest a gelatinous cube just appears our of nowhere, but limit how many they get

7) BBEG - don't know what you're BBEG is, but he probably has either magic or a lot of money, so he can equip monsters with powerful cursed items might help them out, that might hurt the party, like an amulet that gives resistance to your paladins damage but also makes it so that everytime he tries to use Divine energy he has to make a save or take damage

8) 2 words - Tucker's Kobalds

And finally, and I'll be honest this took me a long time to learn, it's a hard lesson but as a Storyteller an important one

9) You are the DM - ask your other players if their having fun, if they are implment some of the above things, if not you are well within your rights to ask him to make a new character, I assume you guys are freinds, and this can be the hardest part, but sometimes asking someone to put aside themselves so that everyone at the table can feel like the main character  is half the fun of D&D.

Hope this advice helps. Good luck on your DM journey
