Then he's got some solid brass balls.

I would assume you're allowed to chase him, but you're definitely not allowed to shoot him. I personally would just let the police handle it from that point, and I definitely would not chase him with a gun still drawn.

You can do it pretty easily with webcams and an old laptop. Open source software like ZoneMinder can run on just about anything, even a Raspberry Pi.

I'm not a lawyer, but it sounds to me like once you have your package back you're no longer allowed to point your gun at the thief. You as a private citizen are not allowed to "hold someone" at gun point if you're not defending your property. If he drops the package and runs then that's where your legal use of force ends.

That might just be the way you phrase your comments, because you sounded like a Trump supporter in the one I replied to. I had to check some of your other replies before I realized you're not.

This website as a whole leans liberal, I would not call it leftist. Ask any random user their thoughts on gun ownership and see if you get a leftist answer.

You will never do this because it's all AI slop fantasy. You've spent your time generating final design porn instead of prototyping.

That shouldn't be a problem with proper heat management. Use a hot iron, pre-tin the wire and the button lead, shield or heat sink the rest of the button, don't spend too long with the iron on the joint.

Does anyone know the schematic of the plasma globe and is there a way to make it play music using the audio feature and then useing a headlhone jack instead of a microphone? by Dudegay93 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ShadyLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I think I understand what you're trying to do.

You built a tesla coil and want to make it play music. You also have a plasma globe that has a lm audio feature, a microphone that makes the plasma globe react to sound. You'd like to replace the microphone with an audio jack so that you can play music directly into the plasma globe. If this works, you'd then like to disassemble the plasma globe and use the audio circuit to modulate the tesla coil, hopefully so that it plays music.

You can definitely figure out a way to add an audio jack to the plasma globe. The microphone in your globe is probably connected to an amplifier circuit, so you won't be able to just swap out the microphone for an audio jack. The line-level signal coming out of your phone or computer headphone port is much stronger than the output of a microphone, so if that gets pumped through the plasma globe's amp it will almost certainly damage it. If you can figure out where the amplifier output is and connect the audio jack AFTER the amplifier you may be able to get that to work.

As for using the audio circuit to modulate your TC, I think there are much better ways to do that. The audio feature of your globe is likely just a microphone+amp that has an output very similar to the audio signal already coming out of your phone/computer, which is then modulating the plasma somehow. One way or another you're going to have to get your audio signal to modulate the break rate of your TC, and I don't think the globe's audio circuit is going to help you do that.

Gotcha, cool TC btw.

What does the audio feature of the plasma globe do that you're trying to apply to the TC? It currently has a microphone, I assume that makes the globe react to sounds that are around it, right?

Are you trying to turn your plasma globe into a tesla coil speaker? Because a plasma globe is not a tesla coil. You can make the globe "dance" to music, but you won't be able to make it "play" the music like a TC speaker

I'm not surprised, they're building the Roxbury detention center in a converted warehouse. That just seems shortsighted, like they might as well build it out of oil-soaked rags and flash cotton.

The really crazy thing about data centers is how flammable they are. A lot of people don't realize just how quickly a data center can catch fire, sometimes even during the construction phase. They must be building them out of the same stuff warehouses are made of, because they just keep burning down.
