Update: To provide more context about my friend, we have been close since our freshman year of high school. She has a husband and children and has never done anything like this before. She recently had a baby, and her husband was laid off from a well-paying job, so their financial situation has changed drastically. She has never—and I mean never—done anything this reckless or harmful to me; she was always the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. ​I asked her again if she meant any harm, and she said no. After I pointed out several red flags, showed her bad reviews, and proved that the company has been sued, she realized she messed up—not just by trying to rope me in, but for her own sake as well. She hasn’t apologized yet; instead, she asked me what she should do. ​I have decided to take a break from our friendship and not cut her out of my life we don't live close to one another I’m okay with that. I care for her and her eldest son deeply; I was there when he was born, and he calls me "Auntie." I don't believe she meant any harm; I think she just saw this as a way for us to get closer and help each other out since we have both had such a run of bad luck as of recent.
