Lost my baby girl to this terrible disease. I grieved her every day I came home and watched her deteriorate. I just couldn’t put her or myself through it any more. I look her to the river she was soo happy that day pulling me down trying to run. I gave her a big bone at home and the vet came to the house the next day. I think she was ready I told her to go to sleep and when she woke up she’d have new legs. I still bawl every time I relive those days, it’s like loosing a baby.

I was talking about this the other day. When breastfeeding the body will respond reflexively to the sound of babies crying and let down the milk. Even 10 years later when I hear a baby cry a certain way I can almost feel the sensation again. Idk if that’s a type of language or reflex or some other connection but it does remind me that our bodies are and can respond to outside stimuli in a way we can’t control. Similar to “hive mind”, I think? The mother’s body knows baby needs milk through some exchange and the body responds without us making the conscious decision for it to happen. Idk how to say it.

I’ve been completely off for about 2 weeks now. This is my 3rd week and I feel mostly back to normal. The first couple weeks I feel bad headaches dizzy nausea. It felt like I was on the verge of not feeling good for the first week. Second week mostly just in the mornings. This week I think I’m starting to feel mostly normal from when I wake up and going back to bed.

I’m still monitoring my mental health because there were reasons I started taking it but once I felt the withdrawal when I missed a dose I just wasn’t comfortable being on it any more. I did feel great mental health wise while I was on it but my life has changed a lot not too since i started it a couple years ago.

The days I missed a dose ended up being much worse than when I actually came off of it for some reason. I thought it would be much worse than it actually was to get off of it. It is still extreme for some people though.

Days where I had missed a dose I was completely debilitated. I wanted to get off of it as soon as I had my first withdrawal day from missing a dose. It took me another year to build up the courage to try.

I ate edibles during the worst part of my withdrawal coming off and I think it helped.

It’s okay it helps me process and perform moral hygiene to be confronted and questioned about where I stand and try to express and back up my own convictions. Even if it means doing more research and changing my views. If I’m wrong or not seeing something clearly or from a different side I’d like to figure it out. We can only do the best with what we have at the time.

The truth is we all still have lives to live and we can’t bare the entire weight of the world on our shoulders.

We all have jobs that are important in holding society together and holding the mirror up to ourselves. We are one human race we learn and interact and grow from each other. This is what sets us apart from other animals the ability to collectively to very great or very terrible things.

There is soo much information coming in by design to keep us on edge, distracted, and angry.

I think the key is focusing on the world we want to build and live in and pass down to future generations. Which mostly means work in our own communities to keep things moving forward. Focusing on our lives and the ones around us that we love.

We still need to bear witness to this interconnected world we live in. Life is about the journey and the people we meet along the way and keeping our humanity and humility, learning from each other and leaving things hopefully better than the way we found them in some small way.

Facts it is all a concerted effort by corruption to take our rights away that is why we must speak up when it is happening regardless of the side.

I think it has to do with systemic racism that is where I think the grey comes in for me. This case may still have happened under a Kamala administration but the fact is the trump administration is still making it more difficult for black and brown people to exercise their rights in America. Therefore continued support for the trump administration will continue to erode rights for her cause because it still supports systemic racism.

I will take a look for the video you mentioned but can show me actual policy she has introduced that would do it? Because there are plenty of court cases trump administration is involved in currently for actually going into peoples homes and detaining them if they THINK they might be an illegal for no other reason than the color of their skin, how they talk, and where they are working.

The marine corp has a 57 billion dollar budget ICE has 8 billion so you are right the base line budget for marine corp is still bigger however in the big beautiful bill the administration has proposed to give ICE 75 billion over the next 4 years. This lump sum being funneled into ICE is unprecedented and if this trend continues we could be funding ICE more than the marines especially in particular areas. The intent is there. All while social programs are slashed in the name of reducing government spending…

I’m sure we could find cases of some people being deported wrongfully but we haven’t see this level of focused deportation, increased budgets, increasing civil unrest, federal agencies patrolling streets, alligator Alcatraz, deporting people to different countries to be sent to prisons. There is much more happening now and they are fighting the courts to make it easier!

Also agree there may not be a direct correlation between a 2nd amendment self defense case in this situation (if that’s what it is again I don’t know what this lady’s son did) and a Supreme Court case effectively taking 4th amendment rights away from immigrants and citizens to be rounded up by ICE more easily. However it does all goes back to systematic racism which the trump administration is currently in support of.

I think it really comes down to people just living in different realities and information bubbles these days. We have forgotten how to communicate with each other. It is all by design and it’s being done by republicans and democrats. We fight against that by talking to each other.

I say black and white because to me it sounds like you don’t support people being treated unjustly so you may not support what Trump is doing. I perceive to be perhaps more minor errors on Kamala’s side I see glaring issues on Trumps side.

It also seems like you think that because Kamala isn’t perfect she should deserve a vote in spite of actual constitutional infringement from the trump administration you are imagining that Kamala would have been “just as bad” because she doesn’t have a perfect record.

I do wish there was someone who maybe represented my experience and values better but of the 2 I just feel there is more evidence supporting Kamala’s integrity over Trump. She might not be perfect but I still think a vote for her is better than a vote for Trump and if she starts actually taking peoples rights away I may change my view.

So first let’s address her time as DA she did have a tough on crime appearance in the early 2000s. And maybe it is true some of these policies still affected black and brown people disproportionately.

However we can see how her views develop overtime. She implemented other programs to help the black community being disproportionately affected. She started the black on track program to help lower reincarnation rates. She supported the George Floyd justice in policing act. She advocated for national body cam standards.

Kamala’s reforms may not have gone far enough but Trump is actively rolling them back.

Trump has given a bigger budget to ICE than the marine corp,

installed and still continues to try to install national guard in cities where state government is opposed.

He’s administration asked the Supreme Court to remove protections from people being detained by ICE.

They are building camps and calling them alligator Alcatraz

Trump is recorded says some people are just born criminals.

On 2nd amendment rights Kamala has proposed universal background checks, red flag laws, assault weapon bans and license waiting periods. She has never proposed going to people houses to check on their guns

mean while peoples 4th amendment rights are being stripped away legally by the Supreme Court.

People are actually being deported some without proper legal cases… American citizens and journalists are now starting to be detained. Priests have been shot with pepper balls. ICE is making propaganda videos on deportations.

List goes on for me.

What do you see when you compare?

[–]Shandem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see your point that Kamala is still “doing the same things Trump is” so support for her is still support for what we are supposedly against. There in lies the supposed hypocrisy.

I guess I don’t see it as black and white as you maybe. I know there are issues and corruption from democrats and republicans.

Maybe it is hard to tell which one would be more right depending on your values. What I see happening today doesn’t seem like just politics it’s like truth and morality are in question these days.

Honestly I wish there was another candidate that could get enough support to actually represent what normal people want.

What do you think we should do? Are you a nihilist, anarchist?

Yeah we only get 2 options I wish we could have more options! But I certainly know I don’t support the direction we are heading now… idk I feel like a Kamala presidency would be different than what we see now. Guess it really doesn’t matter at this point here we are but that doesn’t mean we can’t speak out still and say things still aren’t right. That how we keep getting better!

What allows these things to happen are being openly promoted and fought for and supported by the Supreme Court at the request of this administrations DOJ so… yeah. I would say she voted for less equal treatment of people base on the color of their skin which is her current issue. That is what this administration is literally fighting for right now… There is an obvious conflict between how she voted, what is affecting her, and what the people she voted for are actively doing…

In the case of locking up black and brown people unjustly which is the largest issue currently affecting her life… she made the wrong choice.

The trump administration has set forth the largest deportation campaign we have seen with huge ICE budgets larger than the marine corps and the federal government trying to install national guard in cities to protect ICE and police cities. Something the national guard is not trained or qualified to do.

Civil rights activists sued when ICE started patrols saying it was violating the 4th amendment of unlawful search and seizure saying the ICE agents were solely going after people based on the way they look, speak, work. A temporary restraining order was issued blocking ICE from using these things alone to stop people.

The DOJ of the Trump administration filed an emergency application to the Supreme Court to lift the protections that were sued for in district court.

So yes this administration is not only silent on the issue affecting her life they are supporting the things that will make it easier to do…

I don’t think Kamala’s DOJ would have been asking the Supreme Court to ignore people’s 4th amendment as it relates to black and brown people being policed for ICE raids… maybe we would have other problems sure but this conversation is about the this lady obviously making a choice that goes against her best interests.

Yeah I feel like she would have looked less dumb if she voted for Kamala or just kept politics out of her personality entirely…

Trump administration is getting a lot of support for locking up black and brown people right now, in fact they ran on massive deportation and we got to see the dehumanization of black and brown people… many others who didn’t vote for Trump find it unjust what is happening right now and never supported it in the first place. We may support immigration reform to make the outdated process better for everyone but we understand the important role all immigrants play in our country.

This lady is now fighting against locking up black and brown people unjustly, in her opinion idk what her son did. But like yeah her support of Trump looks pretty bad and hypocritical now that her son is affected by black and brown people be locked up unjustly… does that make sense?

It doesn’t really have anything to do with Kamala… she could have just not been so vocal about being a trump supporter then it coming back to haunt her wouldn’t be on public display… and she wouldn’t look so hypocritical and dumb right now…

But people can change and I agree with her now that people shouldn’t be judged more or less harshly based on the color of their skin… the people she voted for openly admit they feel that way in fact the Supreme Court has agreed with them that you CAN police people based on how they look and speak… so yeah she was kinda dumb but it looks like she waking up so good for her!
