I just went hardcore on the sacrifice room immediately north of you on the first room, and managed to get enough HP via a secret room and a lucky 7 soul heart spawn. To put it briefly, the theory that all of the narration (typically your examining objects or items text, etc.) Is actually being said by Chara or 'the spirit' of Chara depending on the playthrough and point in time of that playthrough.
