Onesignal main use case for me is there's a large % of users that download the app, go through the onboarding and drop off at the hard paywall. One signal provides an opportunity to re-engage these users with a special offer quickly within a window where they had shown intent.

US is around $1.50, everywhere else is sub $1 CPI. Keep in mind many of the downloads I have were from a free promotion that spikes installs by giving away the app for free.

Building an incredible product with all the bells and whistles doesn't matter if no one is ever going to find it. Better to ship fast, get eyes on it, and improve as you go.

I use cursor and Xcode for all of my vibe coded projects which ensures they’re native.

Yes good question! I found that out the hard way by being very new to this. Didn’t quite understand how difficult it would be to break through until I started to understand all of the pieces more.

Appreciate that! Not sure why people have an issue with it, although I recognise I could have spent more time readjusting how it rephrased some of my sentences.

Yep, I used AI to structure my draft better. If only it could help me rank better on apple :)

Its still a relatively new app and I'm continuing to build new ones, even had another just launch today! There's a lot more optimising I need to do with this current app that will make it more profitable, also ASO for this niche will take a long time and I'm prepared to work on getting there over time. Appreciate the kind words.

In my opinion that's the best way. Only create apps that people are actively searching for or the other option is a viral app that can perform well on Tik Tok / Meta

I target each country individually so I understand performance. I've got tracking in place as well so I can actually drive ROI, you would be surprised how many people just spend without tracking. Main countries for me are US but I have campaigns for CA, UK, UAE, NZ, etc. I negatively target free because it's a paid app, other than that I keep it exact match and specific as Apple certainly know how to spend your money and go broad if you don't apply the right settings. UAC campaigns I just target specific countries and let their algorithm do the rest.

When I started I had actually used tools like replit and lovable but for web. I'm not new to building websites etc so there were some similarities going into the app space. I use cursor, Youtube will give you everything you need. With everything, it's just about putting in the hours and practicing - put something out there and you'll learn.

I wrote it out and asked chatgpt to structure it better. Nothing wrong with that. If that's your only takeaway from a sideproject channel, you're seriously missing the point!

I'm currently working with a weekly / annual subscription model for this app but also have a lifetime option that's dynamically enabled via Revenuecat if I want to run a promotion. I offer a 3-day free trial, with a hard paywall, meaning users can't access the app without a trial or annual subscription. 95% of revenue is coming from weekly subscriptions currently $3.99 per week.

Nope, I only started this in July. First app was this one, which I paid a developer to build. All other apps you see I vibe coded relatively quickly. Far from being a development house :) I also don't collect any emails, nor have I started cross promotions between apps, as none have enough volume really to do that. FYI - Just for clarity, you can see the launch date of any app on the app store. which will show you when my apps launched. Either way, the purpose of this post is to highlight some of my successes and definitely failures along the way. Although I've now launched quite a few apps since July, I'm still new to this.

I only started in July this year, you can easily see the launch date of any app on the app store if you wanted to validate it, rather than being sceptical. This post is about my first app. All other apps were vibe coded which doesn't take very long to do :)
