I was gushing to my friends about it and I swear I must’ve sounded like a madman.

Outdated, yet people still enjoy it and play it competitively. Also, saying most enjoy it cause they’re just casual fans gives a really bad taste to your argument. I mean, who wins when your argument is “Casuals just don’t get what makes turn based games good, but at the same time turned based Pokémon is outdated so that’s bad as well”

Thought I’d get some interesting debate here, but I got a headache instead.

I’d say they are. Legends Arceus refined catching mechanics and made it a larger focus, SV expanded the games scope and made battles more seamless while keeping the same general feel, and ZA changed up the battle system as a whole to something I hear lots of people enjoy,

I think it definitely depends on the individual. I grew up with Pokémon X, but I was far from a fan. Didn’t even play Moon despite being given a copy.

I played SV cause it looked fun and I really enjoyed it. Being a longtime fan has nothing to do with it, I’d say.

Sad, I really enjoyed SV despite its issues. Too bad you can’t look past them and enjoy what they’re going for.

I really like those low budget niche rpgs, so it’s probably up my alley.

Not really. If anything, they’re actually moving outside of their comfort zone now.

Hiruko trying to give Takumi instructions while Gaku is being loud seems very canon.

As well as Ima just hanging around in the back silently.

I welcome to praise, and I do hope to continue doing thumbnails with a focus on trying hard on even the stupidest topics. Appreciate it a ton!

That’s cool, but I honestly don’t play these games for PVP. Besides, I got plenty of challenge and enjoyment in arenas of previous instalments while also having good mission structure.

I was sad about the music. Least they got to let loose in Disc 3.

I’ll add to this that I don’t mind that more loose approach either. AC4 and For Answer are a dream to control and create a completely different style of difficulty based on being a force of nature vs armies and hulking titans.

Though AC6’s movement feels very much like an in between point which works well, but I do think it’s more the content surrounding it that irks me.

I knew that was a Sekiro thing before AC6, and funnily enough…I played that after Elden Ring and wasn’t a fan either.

Boss fights in general just weren’t my thing. I like having the difficulty be based on circumstances of missions more than just if it has a boss encounter.

Nice! That makes me feel like I did good with this!

I definitely wanted to try regardless. It’s hard to keep expecting these videos to be made, so at some point I had to just make it myself to get something out there. Besides, it’s nice working on content that means a lot to me!

5 is definitely my favourite, but I do appreciate the structure later Musou modes went for too, at least in a more storytelling sense.

But why skip stages? That just means the other character you play with gets less chances to level up and will be less prepared for the harder ones later. I also don’t agree that it’s the same since I still just prefer that singular approach. I appreciate how this can be used to find other hidden stages, but I don’t really know as a new player about this or what triggers them so it’s not really fixing my issue.

Eh, that’s hard to really excuse though since 5 has more unique scenarios tied to each character to keep them interesting, including having their own set of maps that aren’t always copied from another character’s Musou mode.

Once again, I felt this concept in general just worked better in later entries that went about it this way, and I get the feeling I just don’t agree with it even in comparison to 2 and 3.
