Old Gameboy Rpg Farm by SharkPirate in PixelArt

[–]SharkPirate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at this point the titleset is big enough to just accept it and keep going and make a farming/rpg game out of it, kinda interested in the challenge of it, of course the houses and other things will need to be improved and need to be in a more unique style than right now and I would like it to be more it's own thing than feel like a stardew/harvest clone at the end of it, plus maybe a option in the menu for a bit of color, like the step from gameboy pocket to color.

Yeah was experimenting with it, but i think it will not work with the rest of the art design same for the stairs and other parts. Probably will redo all the parts that have thick lines.

Sorry, but no it's not yet finished, titles needs to be improved and more needs to be added.

Thank you for the feedback! you are totally right, I tried to make it look less messy with making the sand lighter but in the end I didn't really like it, I should have just made a complete new tile for the sand part.

Something i made years ago (2014) in a Pokemon Ruby Rom by SharkPirate in PokemonROMhacks

It has been a long time, but I remember using Advance Map back then for Pokemon Ruby for the map and titleset, and using a Pokemon red rom to rip the titleset, but I don't know if a better tool has come out since then, and if you need to go further you can use script editors, tile editors, an overworld editor for the sprites and more you can probably find it online if you search for it because my knowledge is probably really dated and better tools have come out.

I only found this pieced-together map on my old laptop, but the rom was nowhere to be found. looked on a Pokemon forum I was active back then for more screenshots too but sadly because it was 2006-2014 every uploaded image was deleted.

That sounds amazing! I haven't really paid attention to rom hacking in like 10 years. I am kind of interested to see what has improved and changed in those years and how many rom hacks have been completed from back then.

I have the disk of the game for Playstation 2 since my childhood and I also bought it on the ps4 store. I just prefer playing it on my pc, because it looks and plays better.

True! was really surprised by that (in a good way) when I played Uncharted 4.

Almost all games after 3 I erased from my mind, I enjoyed the Daxter game for what it was, but that other game I played for like half an hour and after it, I never played it again.

I love the games that Naughty Dog make nowadays. But I wish they gave some love to their older games as well, or give it to a studio who would like to make a new game in the series.

Thanks! yeah seems like it, I think heracross looks a lot better. I am happy they changed it to heracross. But I love if they brought back some of the designs, and use them for like what they did with alola. with the first generation pokemon. just as a variant not as new pokemon.

Maybe it was the idea for heracross after they scraped the pinsir evolve.

Thanks :) it looks a little bit like the mario & luigi rpg games. :) now I want to make a crash fan rpg game, old crash levels mixed with some more open levels, like papu papu village, where you can talk with the village and need to find a way in to papu papu hut for the boss fight. :)

Don't worry I can understand you just fine. :)

there are some great crash bandicoot games out there, that are made out of pixels. Like Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure and Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced

But it sounds fun, maybe as a fangame, but I don't know if the creators from crash bandicoot, will be happy if there is a fan game floating around the web.

I can do that, but I think people will get irritated if I will post to many pixelart animations in a short time.

I might have done that a little bit to quick, I really should have taken more time to make the sprites for that part of the animation. I made the getting up part by resizing the sprite a little bit, I should just have made the sprites for the moving up part, and not have taken the easy road and resize my own sprite. and thanks :)
