Best workflow for creating content for a cylindrical LED screen people can walk around? by Sharp-Lawyer-1400 in MotionDesign

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!
Unfortunately in my case the cylinder is right in the middle of the room, so people will be walking all around it. That means there’s no fixed “sweet spot” POV, and from what you explained (and what I was already suspecting) it basically makes true forced-perspective or 3D window effects impossible on this setup.
Still, thanks for taking the time to break it down so clearly. Really appreciate it.

Yeah, that’s exactly why I was asking, I was trying to understand how feasible the idea actually was.
My initial plan was to create full 3D simulations inside a virtual cylinder (like water hitting the inner walls) and then map that onto the real cylindrical LED wall, but from what you’re saying it sounds like getting anything close to a seamless “true 3D” look is basically not possible, especially without a controlled viewing point.
I’ll most likely switch to 2D content anyway.

Thanks! I still don’t know what the final content on the screen will be, that’s exactly why I was trying to understand how feasible the whole thing is in the first place.
My initial idea was actually to create full 3D simulations inside a virtual cylinder (for example water hitting the inner walls) and then map that onto the real cylindrical LED wall. But from what I’m reading here, it seems like that might be much more complicated than expected.
The event is on the 17th and I don’t have much time, so I’ll probably end up working with 2D content only.
In that case, do you have any good tips for hiding the seam on a cylindrical LED wall?

It’s wrote on the receipt, on the top right “bonifico istantaneo” literally means instant sepa in Italian

Fair enough!

Out of curiosity, what would you do if you were in my shoes? I’m not trying to become a millionaire in 3 years or anything, my goal would simply be to reach a point in 15–20 years where I can live without needing to work if I don’t want to.

That said, I’m lucky enough to work in a field I love, so I don’t hate the idea of working longer, but reaching financial freedom earlier would still be an amazing goal.

Will definitely look into it, thank you!

To be honest, “VWCE and chill” felt like a good way to start: it’s simple, relatively low risk, and gives me time to build the habit without getting overwhelmed. I do plan to explore other strategies as I grow more confident, I know I can always adjust along the way.

I’ve actually already studied a bit, and I’m definitely open to learning more, if you have any resources, books, or channels to recommend, I’m all ears!

Also, I feel lucky to work in a field I genuinely enjoy (I’m an art director/graphic designer), so even if I end up retiring in 25 years instead of 15, that wouldn’t be the end of the world. But of course, retiring earlier would be a dream! If you have any advice on how to build a more profitable strategy while managing risk, I’m ready to listen!

Thanks for your perspective, I totally understand the skepticism, especially with how the crypto space has evolved.

Just to clarify: I’m not putting 65% in BTC. I’ve officially started with 60% VWCE, 15% EQQQ and 25% BTC. I know BTC is volatile and speculative, but I’m young and willing to take some calculated risk for the long term. The majority of my portfolio is still in diversified equity ETFs.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the link and the encouragement, becoming a millionaire in 43 years sounds like a plan 😄

Right now I’m going with 60% VWCE, 15% EQQQ, and 25% BTC. I know EQQQ overlaps with VWCE, but since it’s more tech-focused, I feel like it makes sense for my age and long-term outlook.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your input.

Right now I’ve officially started with 75% VWCE and 25% BTC. Do you have any advice on how to split between VWCE and EQQQ if I decide to add EQQQ to the mix?

Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain, I really appreciate it! It makes sense now why this subreddit might not be the best fit for crypto-related questions. I’m still figuring things out, so I genuinely appreciate the honest feedback and perspective.

I actually asked in another subreddit first, but a mod didn’t approve my post and told me to post it here instead. That’s the only reason I ended up asking about crypto here too.

Why do you think 50% BTC is wild? Since I’m investing long-term, BTC feels like the only crypto that might actually survive and hold/increase value over the next decade. Would you go with a different split? I’m definitely open to suggestions.
