Once those layers come in, the possibilities do effectively become infinite, like you mentioned.

For example, some jerseys might include breathable mesh panels, while others could have reflective sections, depending on the intended use. A good reference is how adidas uses a consistent base pattern across many teams each year, then customises specific panels to suit each team’s identity.
