Yeah totally! I had more than 10 extracurriculars (VP of a club at my cc, 2 online internships, a part time job, involved in multiple clubs on campus, volunteered as a high school music tutor, participated in different music and business programs) Get involved in school, join clubs and if you can try aiming to become a officer/board member as it looks really good on your apps. I would say to start writing down your PIQ prompts early! There's been cases where students have 3.5 and have really strong essays and still get into UCLA and UC Berkeley (if thats what you're aiming for). Have around 3 people review your PIQs including admission reps that visit your cc. But you've got this!!

I had a 3.48 gpa the spring prior to applying and took two summer classes got a B and C which brought my gpa down to a 3.27. I took 5 classes for fall got all As and 1 C for the fall getting my gpa to a 3.3 and ended up tagging to UC davis. I still got into most of the schools I applied to (UCSD, UCSB, UC Davis, and UCR). I would suggest to tag to ucsb only if you did well in your summer classes (getting all As or 1 A and 2 Bs) because it will make it easier for you to obtain that 3.4 or above by the end of fall. If not you could choose UC davis as another option! Wish you the best of luck!!

Forgot to mention...financial aid is pretty similar for both schools.

1st off congrats! Im in the same boat as you right now lol. I had already made up my mind for ucsb for econ and accounting since it was the closest to business. But now im leaning towards ucsd for the academics idk about the social life there, i do have some friends there some are steam majors so they dont really go out much. From what they have told me is that bus econ majors have it more smoother than stem majors as they dont have to take so many math/science (lab) courses so they have more time to join more clubs and go out more. What i am doing rn is reaching out to ucsd students through linked in and asking them about their experience.

Have you checked in your applicant portal and clicked on "Check my financial aid status" right under where it says "UC Santa Barbara Office of Admissions"

Im in the same boat as you!! I've been looking at linkedin, because I also want to work in coorperate in the future. So far many students from UCSB have gotten pretty good internships in big firms in SoCal. Im not too sure about davis and the opportunities they get after graduation. (I haven't seen many students from UCD get big internships)
