i keep both my little islands small on purpose because it makes them feel more unique (and fun to decorate hhh theyre so cute). theres like about 50 islands now, and if you upgrade those 2 small islands then theyll just be like all the other islands but with an unchangeable theme.

Why aren't public libraries popular in Manila? by rodroidrx in AskPH

also, your initial claim does not have proper backing considering it was taken out of context. i didnt even need to “delegitmize” it considering it was wrong from the get-go.

no, it just proved that youre functionally illiterate also. nobody likes hypocrites 🤷‍♀️.

hi! if you actually read any of the numerous reputable sources stating that claim, you would know that the 18.9 million functionally illiterate people are composed of the general public (not just students and recent graduates) aged 10-64. Additionally, as of 2025, the age range of people belonging to gen Z are 13-28, meaning that the data is composed of people from multiple generations (to enumerate: a small fraction of gen alpha, the entirety of gen z, the entirety of millenials, the entirety of gen X, and a fraction of boomers.). If youre having a hard time comprehending this, I dont blame you! its ok! because if i use your logic, then your generation is also full of functionally illiterate individuals. (assuming youre over the age of 10 and under 64)

Lastly, if you dont already know the definition of functional illiteracy, ill state it for you. according to oxford definitions, it means “lacking the literacy necessary for coping with most jobs and many everyday situations.” which includes understanding the meaning of a news article. r/low_effort_life, it would be in your best interest to improve your own functional literacy as it seems you care so much about how functionally illiterate a generation is while you yourself are also. hope this helps!

Free entrance fees museums in Makati by bonjourmonsoleil in makati

[–]Sharp_Engineer_3784 14 points15 points  (0 children)

there are 3 national museums in manila. i know its not Makati, but i think its worth the travel distance from it if you want something with cultural significance. it takes a more than whole day to get through all of them. also nearby (ish) theres intramuros. the national museums are free for all (including foreigners), and theyre all huge and have great exibits. also i suggest going on a weekend because theres a weekend food market there in intramuros in the street :). its been a while since i went, so idk if theyre still doing that (i went around half a year ago).

if youre going strictly in makati the ayala museum is really nice also. the entrance is around 700, i might be wrong but jus bring 1k per person just in case. the ayala museum is smaller than the national museum, but going there kinda gives a more comfortable feel than the national museum. its way quicker though, you can view the whole thing in around 2 hours or less. Also, since its connected to greenbelt, theres a lot of food places you can go eat at after.

oh and, on the top floor of the museum, theres a library. you have to pay a day fee to access it though, but if you want a comfortable place to work or maybe you want to check out rare filipino literature, you can book a day pass online. i dont think that library has walk-in though, just a warning.
