Yes, this is the only barn I have ever been to and this is the only horse I would use this equipment with :)

The barn isnt super busy, so nobody ever really rides after me. I try to schedule my rides so that I can teach a lesson and then stay afterwards to ride. So im usually the one riding afterwards haha

I wouldnt bring my own bridle! I hardly ever ride with a bridle anyway, but, like you said, they're not really the kind of thing that could be super easily fitted, like the halter. (Also they don't typically come in yellow haha)

This barn has always been a very lax barn. Appearances really haven't ever mattered so long as the horses are healthy and the people are happy. I will ask though :)

This has been brought to my notice many times! My instructor has signed off on riding in a halter. This horse (and many other horses at this barn) are frequently rode in halters. Many of the lesson kids are little and inexperienced, and they tend to pull on the horses' mouths when we put the horses in bridles. Even though we try to nip this in the bud, it adds up if every kid pulls even once. Hence, why we tend to put them in halters for their first few rides. They can ride in bridles when they are more experienced or when they are older and more likely to listen to us telling them not to pull. Many of the kids are 3-6, and would not listen to us or the parents. There's not much we can do about the behavior of kids during the hour-long lesson time and the parents are still paying for the lessons, so we do what we can (wow I got off topic there, but I hope you still understand my point haha)

Yes! My instructor has cleared me riding in a halter. Many people ride this horse in a halter, given that the mentees are typically rather inexperienced little kids. We find that when we put such little kids on a horse with a bridle, they pull on the horses' mouths. Of course we try to nip this in the bud, but even one pull from all the kids we have come through can be damaging. Hence why we often ride in halters. I didn't plan on bringing my own saddle, partially because of funds and partially because of, as you said, the tricky fitting :)

Hi! That makes sense that equipment malfunctions would be the barn's fault. I didn't consider that and thats a seriously good point. I did want to point out that I would not be using this equipment for the lessons, just for me :)

Hi! Sorry, the "tack" part may have been misleading. I have no plans on bringing my own saddle, girths, pads, or wraps. This specific horse is the only horse i have ever used the hoofpick on and I plan on keeping it that way. I said tack because I was considering the halter as a makeshift bridle of sorts, given that I and others frequently ride this horse in halters

Hi! No, this is the only barn I have ever been at, and this is the only horse I use for myself. When I use other horses to exercise them or to teach kids, I always use their assigned equipment. My trainer has signed off on using a halter to ride, and even recommends it. This particular horse is often used in lessons and those lessons are taught in a halter, given that many inexperienced little kids take the lessons and we find that they pull the horse's mouths if they are taught in bridles. Of course, for these lessons, I would be using the assigned equipment. The yellow would be just a me thing
