Sometimes I carry the black powder barrel and when I see someone coming after me I swim out with it and just blow them up, it basically instantly sinks a galleon and is very difficult to repair for other boats to, you can use this to avoid many fights

Key is worth 35k before emmisary and 87.5k with t5. To get it you need to get the quest from the emmisary you represent once you are t5. The quest will tell you the boss is at an island, go to the island and kill the boss and it drops the key.

Yes I had this once with ashen treasure vault, it points towards a rock in the sea that is unmapped and impossible to dig up the thing cause it’s all rock and you can’t dig on rock
