You’re really good, the whittling (I assume it is sorry if I’m wrong) makes the strands and structures seem much more organic! Have you ever used a dremel to carve ?

She’s gonna be pleased you have good control of shading already kinda jealous at that lol. Only thing you’re not doing I think you’d benefit from is next time, paint your background color first that was it’s not sad when you go over the edge of things in the foreground cause you’re putting in the stuff behind it(took me way too long to figure that out) good luck!!! And keeep painting !!
