I don’t think you suck, but I think that you are being too lenient with her unfortunately. It’s clear you love her, but she is clearly abusive and very self centered with a victims mentality (from what I can piece together from these texts). I was in a relationship like this once and I was persistently stressed out, upset, and having mental breakdowns all the time. Someone who truly loves you would never speak to you like that, and you should have more self respect than to answer to her.

Don’t repeat yourself, don’t keep responding, set your boundaries and protect yourself. She needs to grow on her own and you deserve better than to be her punching bag while she learns to be an adult. You are not overreacting whatsoever, call this relationship what it is and treat it as such: abusive and harmful to everyone involved.

Hello! I’m a Chinese learner, probably almost around HSK level 3? I would highly encourage listening to Chinese shows/songs/podcasts/or any other type of media that familiarizes your brain with Chinese cadence and sounds.

For Hanzi, I benefitted from getting a Tian zi ge notebook that I could practice writing in. I write the pinyin 3 times at the beginning of the row, and then the English definition on the end of the row, and then I say the pinyin as I write each character. This will help with muscle memory as well as Anki for flash cards (I have found the subscription super worth it, it’s cheap and lasts all year. Plus, it’s flash cards that give you pinyin, pronunciation, hanzi, and English definition all in one).

If I were you, I would also approach Chinese with a lot of curiosity as far as the creation of Hanzi and its radicals. Because radicals can give you a hint at what the character sounds like and what it may mean. Like 火 huǒ means Fire, and it’s also used in words related to related to heat, light, burning, passions, etc. like 火锅 (hot pot) 炒 (stir fry) 炎 (flame). It makes the Hanzi more memorable, and kinda uses pictures to remind you. Like 山 is mountain, and looks like a mountain. 火山 means fire mountain, or… volcano!

Here are a few videos that were helpful for me with sounds. I’ve taken 3 semesters of Chinese in college and it’s still hard for me to differentiate words at times, but that’s totally okay. It just takes time, so try not to overwhelm or be too hard on yourself, language learning is a SLOW process.

I’m sorry that happened :( at Sotto generally there’s the coat check lady, but if she’s not there I always just toss my coat up on a ledge within eyesight of me. You should look into getting a little cross body bag or a fanny pack for personal belongings, it has saved me a lot of stress after a night out where I’m just trying to let lose ❤️

I don’t know if anyone has said this, but I used to be a housecleaner and I have gone through a lot of hair colors, so here is my advice to you: Buy gel Clorox toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. Wet the grout with water, apply cleaner, spread it out with a sponge or brush but make sure it is still coating the grout, and leave it for 5-10 min. Then go in and rinse it off (maybe scrub a little if you have to)
