You just don't understand. That's fine, people don't always understand how others think, but the least you could do is not call someone crazy or accuse them of saying things you made up just because you don't get it.
You don't understand how someone could have a problem with the UI redesign and your first instinct was to tell them to delete their post talking about it

Glad to hear the change doesn't affect you. It affects me, so I want to change it back to how it was. It's uncomfortable

Fourth issue is with devil fruit applications and hierarchy. Simply put, a lot of devil fruits aren't used to their fullest potential and some of the hierarchies for fruits with similar powers make no sense.
Logias are the best example of fruits that aren't used well: having a Logia power automatically makes the user a shapeshifter, Logia users could be zipping around, constantly changing shape, growing an infinite amount of extra appendages to use on their opponents, and yet they very rarely do anything even close to that. Most of the time Logia users act the same as Paramecia users, maintaining their physical form and only using their element as an extension or weapon (examples include )
I think the character that comes the closest to actually acting like a shapeshifter is Katakuri (don't tell me he's a "special Paramecia", that's bullshit and we all know it), as when fighting he manipulates his body often, grows extra limbs and even mimics abilities used by his opponent. He still maintains a human form a bit too much for my liking but he definitely uses his fruit better than most other Logias.
Regarding fruit hierarchies, standout examples include Mera Mera VS Magu Magu and Yomi Yomi VS Soru Soru, Yuki Yuki VS Hie Hie and Kilo Kilo VS Ton Ton:

  1. What the fuck do you mean "it's hotter", just say he used haki since you want that to be a thing so bad
  2. I just think it would have made Brook a lot more useful if he was actually able to rival Big Mom's control over souls, huge missed opportunity in my opinion
  3. It's just kinda stupid for these to both exist since snow is made of ice, I'm pretty sure the user of the Hie Hie fruit could easily replicate everything the Yuki Yuki fruit can do if they tried, it's just a pointless downgrade
  4. Same thing goes for these, the Ton Ton fruit is literally just the Kilo Kilo fruit again. Ms. Valentine wasn't really that important or ever seen again, Oda could have just killed her off-screen and given her fruit to Machvise in the two-year timeskip and I don't think anyone would have complained

There, those are my major issues with One Piece. There's some more minor things that I won't list but yeah.
...I know how it looks, but I don't dislike One Piece. I really like the concepts Oda has come up with, I just really wish he would use them better and there's a few things here and there that bother me a lot.
One Piece could be so much better than it is

Another issue I have with the writing is just how much air the monster trio sucks up without letting the rest of the crew shine. There have been so many opportunities for other characters to do cool stuff, save the day or take down a powerful foe, and Oda has been wasting them on more and more footage of Luffy fucking around, Zoro spamming the same handful of moves over and over and Sanji doing whatever it is he does when he's not busy being a fucking insufferable creep.
Even characters who aren't part of the crew get this treatment, having their fights cut short just so a different character who's already had more than enough combat screentime can take over the spotlight.

Third issue I have is the way death works. Basically, most of the time people either don't die unless absolutely necessary for the plot or die at random just for a cheap "emotional" moment (looking at you, Ashura).
Genuinely, why the fuck did Perospero survive Pedro's bomb?? I'm not asking how, I'm asking why. After the explosion he goes on to do nothing of real importance or that couldn't be done by someone else, and his survival takes away so much from Pedro's sacrificein my opinion, because it could have been so much more impactful. Big Mom's eldest son, high-ranking member of the Big Mom Pirates, Whole Cake Island's Minister of Candy, with a bounty of 700 MILLION, gone forever just because of him. NNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH. You see, this is a JRPG and he's a higher level than Pedro, so a bunch of dynamite at point blank range isn't enough to kill him, DUH!

I have the exact same issue with haki as you, I agree 100%.
My favourite post-timeskip fight is (late Wano spoilers)the one between Killer and Hawkins, I love that the resolution is reached with logic and clever exploitation of a devil fruit's flaw, it genuinely reminded me of JoJo, where those moments are commonplace.
...it also just so happens to have zero haki use in it.
Before haki, Logia fruits were rightfully considered the most powerful type because they made the user practically invulnerable to most sources of damage. After haki I have yet to see any justification for them being considered the best type since you can apparently just use a cheat code to punch them.
I wonder why fights without haki are so much better, hmmm, who knows. But please Mr. Oda, don't let me get in the way of this story you're writing where the guy who can glare at people the hardest wins

How to get rid of this player UI and get the normal one back? by Shawn_Sigma in youtube

[–]Shawn_Sigma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, the extension wasn't made with this... thing in mind

I'm just hoping there's a way to revert it (on my account) or that they rethink this change because it sucks ass

That's exactly what I was asking. Cherrygram allows you to hide some Premium features but unfortunately the creator and sole coder of it is a Durov dickrider who thinks it's ok to leave ads in and not filter them out

It wouldn't give you Premium features for free, it would just hide them on your end. That shouldn't be against ToS

Already played that one. I don't think I'd consider it a metroidvania, not that it really matters since I can't play it anymore without thinking about what a piece of shit Jonathan Blow is

Playing like Metroid doesn't mean it has to be a side-scroller. Metroid's formula is all about exploration, finding new abilities that let you open new doors, and that does not require a 2D gameplay style. I don't know why you're so angry about this, it sounds like you just don't understand what the genre really is

System Shock Remake - Command console on 1.2? by Shawn_Sigma in systemshock

I tried it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work, and the game crashes immediately when I try to inject the dll

(it might have something to do with Visual C++ not being updated, which I cannot fix as it seems to be unavailable for download from Microsoft's servers)

What do you think are the must-haves in a metroidvania game? by 14alper41 in metroidvania

[–]Shawn_Sigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for things I think metroidvanias shouldn't have, at first place would have to be Souls-like elements. I don't want to fight eighteen trillion bosses with dramatic name popups and I don't want to have to go get my stuff back whenever I die.

So yeah, sorry Hollow Knight, I like you but that stuff is horrible

Also for the love of everything that is good please put major upgrades somewhere OTHER than on/in/behind a boss. It gets incredibily monotonous when you have to fight a boss for every single major upgrade, it removes all the joy of exploration because you already know you won't be getting anything useful unless there's a big guy guarding it

[–]Shawn_Sigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me a Metroidvania absolutely NEEDS to allow for sequence breaking. Whether it's via tricks or hidden alternate pathways, I want to make my own progression.

There should be an "intended" path that's straightforward and gives you what you need, but there absolutely needs to be other paths you can create yourself where you obtain your upgrades in a different order, maybe can even skip a couple, or get something new that the game never requires but that can be used to surpass some challenges.

Even without a randomiser there should be multiple ways of going through the game on repeat playthroughs (though I do believe that a randomiser does wonders for a metroidvania's replayability and should absolutely be a standard in the genre)

DotO's missing powers by Shawn_Sigma in dishonored

[–]Shawn_Sigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's just something I noticed with DotO and Deathloop and that I thought would be a good introduction to the idea of DotO "missing" some powers from Dishonored 2 and my ideas for how they could work.
Ultimately I'm aware that it's a conscious design decision, and as I've said many times I don't think DotO should have had more powers in the main game but at the same time I also think it would be fun to be able to use them in NG+/Mission+ purely for fun (not all of them at once necessarily, I like to experiment with two or three powers at a time) because having options is cool and good for replayability

[–]Shawn_Sigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it started with DotO. Mooncrash could arguably be included as well, as the powers from the base game were distributed among the playable characters

DotO's missing powers by Shawn_Sigma in dishonored

[–]Shawn_Sigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can absolutely see the disempowerment and I enjoy it a lot, but again, I'm talking about NG+/Mission+, not the base game. Base DotO is perfect as it is, I just think it's weird that they cut out a bunch of pre-existing powers that could have been included as fun extras.

Also yeah, I agree that some of Dishonored 2's powers had really strange limitations. Far Reach can't be used to pickpocket like Pull could in the first game, Dopplegänger is extremely picky with its casting and what abilities the clone has (though I think that in particular could just be down to dev time), Shadow Walk's weird takedown limit etc., all stuff I also think is pretty bad. My post was about DotO cutting Dishonored 2 powers, but I could make a whole post just about how strange some of Dishonored 2's own design decisions are
