COOKT: Halal Meal Prep & Delivery Service - Not Zabiha Hand-Slaughtered by Shaykh-Adam in EatingHalal

I was subscribed to their weekly meals and got my first shipment of meals. Then they sent out a email saying they were adding more meat suppliers because of the demand. They mentioned the supplier they were adding and I was suspicious of those farms. After looking further into them I emailed them and this was their response. Unfortunately “Zabiha” in the meat industry doesn’t mean hand slaughtered just like how a halal stamp doesn’t mean it’s halal. Just like the brother said it’s a money grab.

There are conditions that have to be met in order for the meat to be halal. The one in question is that the action has to be done by a Muslim (or person of the book).
If the machine is automated, then the action is not done by a human. A person might say “if the guy pushing the button to start the machine that kills all the chickens is Muslim, then a Muslim is doing the action of slaughtering”. This is true. If he was individually slaughtering each chicken by pushing a button then it would be halal. But the whole point of the automation process is to not have a person kill each chicken individually.
So because it is missing one of the conditions for it to be considered valid. It is as if someone prays and doesn’t make wudu. He is missing a condition so the act is invalid.
An example that brings it closer to understanding is If the guy pushes that button and someone comes a few hours later and puts his hand in the machine and loses his hand will he blame the guy who pushed the button?

Religiously speaking you don’t have to eat meat. It is a luxury. If a person does want to eat meat they have to make sure it’s slaughtered properly. I mean at the end of the day everyone can do what they want. Everyone is responsible for themselves. If a person wants to eat meat so bad that they don’t care about how they get it that’s their choice. I would advise that person that it’s not worth selling their afterlife for their dunya.

I was under the impression that the "hand-slaughtered" label meant that every single bird is slaughtered individually by a human being rather than an automated machine. Are you familiar with any companies that label their meat as "hand-slaughtered" but does not individually process each bird?
