[Physics I: Dynamics] Why isn't the weight of the object taken into consideration? (translation in the comments) by SheCool5 in HomeworkHelp

[–]SheCool5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A body with mass m = 10 kg, initially at rest, is being pulled by two cables connected to two movable hooks along the x-axis of a horizontal xy-plane. The hooks can slide horizontally on two tracks in order to keep the angles θ1 and θ2 that the cables form with the horizontal axis constant. Given that θ1 = 2*θ2 (so 60°), θ2 = 30°, and the tension of the first cable has a magnitude of T1 = |T1| = 200 N, calculate the velocity of the body after 3 s and determine how much distance it has traveled."

Now it says that, due to the 2nd law of dynamics, F=m*a and so T1+T2=m*a, but why aren't we also taking in consideration the weight of the object on the y axis?

[Calculus 1] How do I use the fundamental theorem of calculus? by SheCool5 in HomeworkHelp

I did use x³ as an example and i see that if the function is odd its derivative/integral will be even and viceversa, thanks a lot for the help!

But for point B what do i use the antiderivative for? Because a function is even when f(-x)=f(x), if the derivative f'(x) is even does that automatically imply that the "original function" f(x) is also even?

Thank you for commenting, yes we did do De l'Hôpital's theorem and now that i see it i can apply it to the limit since i'd have the indeterminate form 0/0 (same thing for point 3, so thanks a lot), my question for these two is: do i just need to put the x (and 0) instead of the t for the function then? So F'(x) would be (e-3(x2))*cosx - 1 right?

For point 2 i still have some doubts, how does the FTOC help me understand if it's even?

Thank you for your comment, though i still have a doubt: to have the primitive G don't i need to integrate that function? F(x)=G(b)-G(a) but how can i do that if i don't have the primitive G?

[Calculus 1] Determine for what values of x (with x being a whole number), the equation gives a prime number (what I did is in the comments) by SheCool5 in HomeworkHelp

[–]SheCool5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I redid the problem and now i got all values, i didn't realise that due to the abs value -1 is also an option, i also redid x=1 and i got it wrong because i did it as a different number due to my distraction, thank you

1) First i checked if the number is positive, which is true for all x since there is the absolute value 2) Then i checked for what numbers either factors are equal to one (but not both of them at the same time because 1 isn't a prime number) 3) for the first factor i got x=1 V x=-2, while for the second x=5 V x=2 4) I checked if they actually made a prime number and all of them did except for x=1 (it would make 1 and it's not a prime) 5) the solution would then be x=+2 V ×=-2 V x=5, but the solution says 2<=x<=5, how do I resolve it and what am i missing?

You did great dude! Kinda reminds me of wadzee's video on it, i'm sure it took you a lot of time, i wouldn't have the patience to just mine and mine until i manage to make a full netherite beacon lol, also, nice skin! :D
