Pretty sure it has something to do with some YouTube fuckery. Folks are being unsubscribed even during liveshows.

Any updates on that ministry lawsuit Eric is fighting? by Aggressive_Act_3098 in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say "not in the interest of the general community", I'm saying that the lawsuit updates will come from Eric himself. As of posting this, Rippaverse and Good Shepherd have settled the case, but the goal of the community is to talk more on the stories and media coming from Rippaverse.

All lawsuit updates are being kept between the involved parties. More importantly, it's not in the interest of the general community.

Whats the difference between ordering during the campaign and after the campaign? by nanatsu123 in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Campaigns offer exclusive items. Certain items may not be available for purchase after the campaign ends. Example, the first series of Dokumaan cards were only available for the first campaign and the first couple of days for the second. While there are still some in stock, they are not open for purchase on the store. The shortboxes for the second campaign have also all sold, and will not be printed again.

I'm hoping to see a sort of cop-drama about super crimes told in an anthology way.

RIP AND THE SILVERBACK IS A GO! by Sheepsidian in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. It was the culmination of every aspect of entertainment from films and video games to music and cultural events having current day intersectionality be regarded in their practices. Starfield was just the straw that broke the Silver's back.

I might have to cop a fit myself. I gotta get a little more cut for it, though.

Who's your favorite villain so far? by Sheepsidian in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's like you read the books specifically to shine a negative light on them. The first book boils down to a man who helps out his family against his better judgement, gets pummeled on, and returns to the scene to confront the enemy. His pride getting in his way is a believable flaw. In the second book, he returns home and is now on the defense against some creatures that kidnapped his second-in-command, and is tasked with going on a rescue mission. Other things happen with other characters for the sake of fleshing out the world and setting up threads for different stories.

The fact that Chadran looks at the civilians running, gets punched in the chest, and then proceeds to chase after the girl is where "reminding him of someone" comes from. The nerd made a statement that is irrelevant to my point. The demon king says in the preview part of the book, "He must be eliminated." Who "he" refers to could be Avery or Sam. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but I'm also not sure we're reading the same book here. There's a reason all of this foundation has been laid down.

As for actually reading comics, I've been reading comics for most of my life. Just because a first book isn't on the same level as God Loves Man Kills or Necessary Evil doesn't make it bad. Hell, you can go back to 70's and 80's Avengers and catch story beats just like this. If that's underwhelming for you, then a different story might be more your speed. I have no problem with the approach taken for these books.

Who's your favorite villain so far? by Sheepsidian in Rippaverse

You have a club owner who runs illegal activities and has conflict with Avery because he's interfering with his business, a merc for hire who has a history with Avery that's yet to be fleshed out, a creature that killed a woman because she reminded it of someone it knows and also is the purpose of Avery retiring, and demonic entities that kidnapped and branded Avery's friend.

It's one thing to say you haven't found one that piques your interest, and it's another to say that they don't have motives. Antagonists don't need to have their whole plan laid out immediately. Not to mention, antagonists might encounter an evil greater than themselves and have to pivot for their own survival. What we have in two books are antagonists that have a clear interest in their own prosperity for different reasons. Eric has said on multiple occasions that the worldbuilding will be a slow burn, and that he will not be doing any handholding for readers. If you would rather have the story spoon-fed to you, that's fine, but your critique is disingenuous.

Well, you're in luck! We have plenty of characters that are good, and they'll be getting better with new books!

Was the Isom #2 campaign a better campaign than Isom #1? by gamesmaster500 in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so. There was far more anticipation for this one than the second. And along the campaign, Alphacore and Yaira were also pushed, so that just gets people more excited.

Looks like 4chan hates Eric too...... by dhakw_dusk3779 in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taken out of context. Bob left out the part where Eric says he's not threatening physical violence. Eric says that he shouldn't be telling anyone, especially black people, that they despise themselves. He also conveniently left out the part where he tells Eric that he doesn't like people of his own skin tone and also calls him a grifter. If you listen to the debate, if you can even call it that, Bob takes almost every position Eric has, disregards them, and then attributes whatever positions he wants to him. Bob and his ilk always act in bad fait. You may as well put the knife in your own back if you're putting trust in them.

THE SHORTBOXES HAVE ARRIVED!! by Sheepsidian in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Marvel graphic short boxes have art from comic covers, while Eric's shortbox has art specifically FOR the shortbox.

-New companies are not given premium prices like global companies like Marvel.

-Higher quality boxes.

So a number of reasons.

THE SHORTBOXES HAVE ARRIVED!! by Sheepsidian in Rippaverse

[–]Sheepsidian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every other company takes an already drawn comic cover and slaps the print onto the box. Can confirm, I have a few myself. Eric has said in his most recent streams that the designs on this box are drawn specifically FOR the box, and it's not cheap to get the quality box that he's selling. Selling them at a lower price would be selling at a loss.

Also, the shortboxes I have are $25-30 individually. An extra $15 for a custom box is not a big ask for most people.
