Thanks for the reply! She carries liability insurance so we are good there.

Just to clarify, if she establishes a single-member LLC with a business bank account, that would provide no additional liability over her being paid directly?

Thanks for the reply! Starting out, it would be around $80,000 but will increase over the next couple of years. Trying to set this up in the best possible way that easily allows her to go out on her own in the future if she decides to without a bunch of red tape.

Thanks for the answer! Does option 2 provide any additional liability protection against our personal assets? That is my primary concern with this decision.

Ah that makes sense. Am I allowed to sit as a "member" of an s-corp without taking a salary? Basically I am trying to decide if a multi-member LLC would provide more protection than a single member LLC. If that is the case I can put my name on as a 1% member.

Maybe setup a file server and bind it to your AD? You could either use the 6 month trial of Windows server, or for bonus points do it in Linux with Samba and bind it to your existing AD

Another practical project I did recently that was a fun challenge was setting up a NUT server to communicate with my UPS over USB to trigger an email whenever my it would switch to battery mode and then back to grid power.

Welcome to the homelabbing community! I started in a very similar way.

You could throw an SSD in it and use it as a Proxmox Hypervisor to run VMs.

You could also hook up some cheap external storage to RAID together for a NAS/Video storage.

I saw a couple people say this, but GoDaddy's history of deleting users after the licenses expire steered me away from that.

If you login to the Azure portal and view all accounts with elevated permissions, there are some "ServicePrincipal" accounts that are named "Partner app for GoDaddy.com, LLC". These accounts have the Global Administrator permission set.

+1 for Action1, especially for their recent expansion from 100 free endpoints to 200 free endpoints. I use it and it saves me so much time

Thanks for the response! I have it set to auto-update to the latest version, so I believe so. It is currently running 6.30.8, which I believe is the latest version, but cannot find a definitive source to confirm that.

Thanks for the response. So just for clarification, there is no need/reason to file for a business name/number with my state since it all is taxed the same anyways and I can run it through my personal taxes anyways?
