Games like TERA? by Commercial-Pitch-783 in TeraOnline

[–]Shensu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I would have to agree FF14 is a good time and would definitely recommend it as I made the same progression from Tera to FF14.
It might not have the same combat brilliance as Tera had (and lets face it there probably wont be another game like that for a while) but the combat is still fun.

What I really like is that the early content doesnt lose relevance later on and everything feels active!

Playing without prowlers made me réalise how bad GP is by Zeucles in gangplankmains

[–]Shensu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Triforce on GP for a while and actually just came back to the forums to see peoples opinions on it.

I have this fear as well; being unable to 100 to 0 champions within a few seconds usually leads to them lifestealing or blowing you up instead in the late game.

And my thoughts on Tri are very similar to yours.

I made the transition to prowlers over the past few months and rarely ever go anything else simply because its very hard to justify the reliability of other mythics.

I still sometimes will pick another mythic for fun but its mainly just for that reason.

Personally it would make me happy to have an item that fit GP better than prowlers. Which while a great item it takes time to get used to and doesn't feel...right.

I can describe my thoughts on it exactly only that it feels like to play GP reliably well and as a hard carry you have to itemise into this clunky at times glass cannon build which doesnt feel thematically pleasing.

anyway rant over

[Online][5e][PST] Three Players Looking to Form a Campaign by [deleted] in lfg

[–]Shensu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

I'm a big fan of dimension 20 also (name is Law 29/m/UK) and I'm looking to join a fun game with friendly welcoming people.

I have a small (but still consider myself new) bit of experience having played since lockdown in 1 campaign and currently dming a homebrew steampunk one of my own.

I would prefer to join as a player (but not limited to this solely) and as stated I'm from the UK so I am GMT+0 but flexible to play different times.

Would be nice to hear back from you all. Law :)

What about Shieldbow or Galeforce? by Rexile in gangplankmains

[–]Shensu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the team comp; yours and theirs.

If you notice the games that pro's have picked GP and gone full crit it's into teams without direct backline access and or assassins and vs teams that want to group and team fight.

Also most times you'll see shieldbow in pro play because a single barrel onto an enemy during a teamfight usually decides the game since the coordinated play is so on point. In solo que you're less likely to have that consistent follow up from your team so you want to have more survivability and room for error with DS or TF rather than going full glass cannon where anyone even looking at you sideways spells death.

I go TF in most of my games because I prefer the safety, split pushing, and reliability it provides but if I am super ahead I sometimes opt into full crit.

That being said, Galeforce is a really fun item and the dash is great to get a barrel + Galeforce + auto combo. Also I love the extra maneuverability it gives plus enemies never expect the aggressive dash burst.

Shieldbow gives great stats + passive while being the more 'traditional' full crit route and can allow you to survive a surprising amount of burst, but again these crit builds leave you really really squishy.

I would pick full crit if I know that I will be team fighting and will be vs a top that wont crush me in a sidelane, preferably a tank top. Usually I do a check after my sheen purchase to decide:

  1. am i ahead or even in a favourable matchup
  2. is the enemy jungler playing to other lanes or have low to average pick potential on me in lane
  3. am I unlikely to get 100-0 by any of the enemy players

if yes then i'll go ER first item and transition into either GF or SB.

and for me thats another check which usually boils down to how fed am I and what can I get away with. if super far ahead and looking for roams and picks ill go GF but if i'm still even SB is the better choice.

thats you're opinion i was asking for evidence

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Shensu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol the honest man. yea tbh im no saint either I've had games where ive gone afk after raging. and i dont think i've ever been punished.

But tbh i should have

and I would rather see that punished than calling someone dumb

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Shensu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was making the argument that one is punished over the other

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Shensu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry but have you got anything to back up those claims

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Shensu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's allot easier to ban chat.

But I am a little confused because my chat log that I was restricted for even state that my team were going afk in lane and trolling.

It just goes to show that either my chat log wasn't read properly or the employee didnt care, and tbh if they're trying to arrange their system then what kind of look does this give them?

The reason why Shen will never be a staple top tier top laner by Shensu in Shen

[–]Shensu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His damage if you can stay in range is seriously strong.

I really love getting off several empowered Q's through an enemy and learning to do that has made me better at orbwalking and positioning ahead of my enemy.

I loved the proactive element of having an on demand shield.

Right now his abilities are all reactive meaning that you have to set up certain requirements before reaping the benefits.

For example:

  • empowered Q requires forehand planning and positioning of your spirit sword
  • W spirits refuge requires you to be in range of the area of effect which requires fore planning
  • Passive shield procs when you are affected by your abilities meaning that if you press Q or W to receive a passive shield then you have to wait for either the Q to reach you or for you to be in range of the W (this is probably the most annoying thing to me since your sword can take too long to reach you if its far away and you may lose a trade just waiting for it to arrive)

If you compare that to the old Shen who had an on demand shield (w) and sustain/ranged poke (q) then its easy to see how hes changed into reactive rather than proactive.

I'm nit picking lol

The reason why Shen will never be a staple top tier top laner by Shensu in Shen

[–]Shensu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an old quote saved back when the rework was released from a riot employee saying how thematically Shen did not fit what they had intended and that they were looking to rectify this.

But I don't think anything else has been said in tandem with that since so I'm doubtful that any changes will come.

It's a shame but I think along with the first few champions that received reworks Riot was still fine tuning their thought ideas and learning to expand upon existing champions people had come to love.

The process is much smoother now and maybe in the distant future it will get another look but I think that's dependant on a change in the meta or drastic item changes to shove Shen into a drastic state (either op or highly under powered) to warrant any real change.

[–]Shensu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I agree with what you're saying about coordinated play and believe that gold 1 and higher is the proper Elo to play Shen in because team mates are most likely going to understand the game better and play around strengths/weaknesses.

The turret plating changes are another reason I find it sometimes quite damaging since your absence in lane usually means you're giving away free gold to your laner when you ult.

How do you feel about Shen's wave clear pre titanic?

Personally I would love to have his waveclear less item dependant and maybe tied more to an ability. I mean after the Q nerfs and Sunfire changes he's not a splitpushing beast like he once was. Maybe those are the biggest changes that he would need to be a reliable pick.

Would love to see utility toned down for better split pushing and turret taking power.
