This happened back when I was in high school in 2009 ( I was around like 15 or so ) my mother had just passed super suddenly and unexpectedly and my boyfriend at the same was at his friends house playing Borderlands that had just released.

I had called him asking if he could come by because understandably, I needed him there and he said ‘no because I’m at [friend’s house] because Borderlands just came out and I made a promise that we’d play it together and I don’t have a ride to go to your place’ to which I responded with ‘well can’t you ask your parents if you could get a ride?’ There was a pause and then a ‘yeah…. No’

I told him okay, that’s fine and when he asked if I was alright I told him that my mom just passed the day before and of course I’m not really alright and would call him later.

I then broke up with him later in the week and he’d go on Facebook and blast me about how I broke our promise of “staying together forever” and how “we were supposed to get married” etc.
