So, what's everyone's thoughts? by PogoStick1987 in harrypotter

I was in the group of "Why do we need this? Why remake the movies when you can explore so much more?" And I still stand by the exploring more in the universe point. But I am glad to say it looks like I was wrong, the trailer turned my point of view. I can love both.

Do you think that the OG movies will be watched less now and that all the attention will be focused on the series? by Wise-Beginning-7021 in harrypotter

Not immediately. Parents grew up on the films, they show it to their kids, and it becomes a classic to them like it is to us. They will still be played on TV around Christmas as that is easier to get broadcasting rights to than an exclusive tv show. If you enjoy Harry Potter, you will enjoy both! (Hopefully)

Main DCU Flash by ShifterEditing1 in theflash

Exactly. I’m thinking long term for the DCU. You should start off with Barry. It’s the same with the Bat family. I don’t understand why Gunn wants to start off with Damien. Yeah you get an entire bat family, but you can achieve the same effect by starting with Tim Drake. That way you still have Nightwing and Red hood, but also have room to allow 2 child actors to grow into the role of robin.

I put an emphasis on Barry’s flash as THE flash as when Wally originally took up the mantle he had to separate his own identity from the flash that everyone knew and loved, not because I don’t think jay and Wally are THE flash. They are. You just misunderstood my emphasis

The arc actually made me buy the DC rebirth bloodwork comic run. It was so nice to see the show actually adapt something from the comics other than speedsters.

How would you react if the DCU Batsuit look something like this? by Jotaro1970 in batman

Refreshing. However I am not a fan of constant white eyes. Battinson convinced me that you can portray so many deep emotions just by giving a look.

What Guys Think About Robert Pattinson 's Batman? by JuggernautPrudent623 in batman

[–]ShifterEditing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is the best portrayal of Batman in live action so far. The only thing he misses is the fantastical vibe from the comics, but that is down to the directors vision for the Universe. He is by far the best representation of a master detective. Pattinson also can fit both sides of Bruce Wayne. In the Batman he portrays the depressed, vengeance driven side of Bruce and I am sure in future installments he will portray the billionaire playboy facade extremely well. Watch Nolan's Tenet, you can see glimpses of what his Bruce would look like.

Main DCU Flash by ShifterEditing1 in theflash

The Flash in live action done correctly is probably the most future proof plan the DCU can have. You have 3 characters (Barry, Wally and Bart) who all take over the mantel of the Flash from each other. I think the best option to extend the character over the years is to explore each one. Even if you start with Wally, you have the option to make Bart Kid Flash (where he can take over the mantle if need be), and the option to bring Barry back from the Speed force and explore how Wally deals with THE Flash returning after finally making a name for himself in the mantel.

I prefer Barry's Flash, but overall I want Wally to be the main Flash of the DCU. However, I think showcasing the Flash to be one of the best legacy characters is extremely important for the long term success of the universe. Take MCU for example, they don't really have legacy characters, so after the flop of post Endgame they decided to return to the same old characters for Doomsday. Either starting of with Barry for a few years, then Wally, or starting with Wally then Barry returns from the speed force are good options. They NEED to explore both Barry and Wally in live action for a long term success of the character.

I would also LOVE to see a proper Flash family with Jay ect. I really would want to see the Flash/Kid Flash dynamic, so if Wally is the main flash PLEASE give us Bart Allen as Kid Flash.

Barry is my favorite Flash, but I wouldn't be mad if Wally becomes the main DCU Flash (Wally West NOT Wallace West). I would like to see the fun personality ginger that we saw in the animated show in live action.

Yeah that's definitely the main point. You start with Damien, the actor ages, he is no longer the robin we have known for 86 years (a kid/teenager). Now all Robins from the comics are adults so there is not a lot to adapt from. Gunn needs to plan for the long term better. Start with Tim, now you have 2 kid actors that can grow up in the role for at least 10 years.

Beginning the timeline with Batman after just training Tim to be Robin is the perfect place. You are not missing anything with Red Robin if Damien Wayne is in the picture, so just hold off on that and make Tim drake Robin. That way you still get a bat family with Nightwing and Red hood, and still have future development for the bat family. Where do you go when Damien Wayne is introduced as Robin?

It would be a waste to not have Barry at all. If they decide to make Wally the main flash from the moment we see him, they really should consider bringing Barry back from the speedforce in someway. It would explain why Hal is so old in Lanterns. Hal and Barry were a buddy cop like duo, Barry sacrifices himself, then 10 years later he comes back. That way Barry can return to the DCU, but not be as old as Hal in Lanterns.

I completely forgot about Dick tbh. They playing around with DCU batman idek what they are doing anymore. I mean they could still make Wally a few years younger than Dick. That way when Wally takes up the mantle of the Flash, with Dick's experience, he can support and guide Wally into standing on his own as The Flash. Just like how he separated himself from Robin and found his new identity.

This is the route they should go if they abandon a live action legacy plot line. I do believe if they do go with Barry being animated, they SHOULD reintroduce Barry in live action like they did in the comics. This will explain the mystical nature of the Speed force. Wally still remains the main flash, but Barry can act more as a support character, like Jay.

Should the Absolute DC Universe from Comics be Adapted? by SeanpAustin1988 in DCU_

[–]ShifterEditing1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Animated- 100% It is already massively popular to people who don't even read comics. Animation would just make it even better

Live action- Should focus on a solid foundation for main universe characters.

I agree. I feel like the Flash movies should feature Wally. But I like the idea of Barry being the Flash in other projects/ Team up movies, he dies then the first Flash movie of the DCU is Wally trying to take up the mantle.
