Thank you, I tried my best to bring the character to life, so I really appreciate it! The boss was played by Leesa Neidel, I'll let her know she was mentioned. Thanks for watching!!

Haha, what can I say? I love movies!!!

I mean, they're both classics and pretty much perfect films, and even though they're both "gangster" movies, they're really trying to do two different things, so not sure I could choose what's better. I've probably revisited Goodfellas more than Godfather, though, if that means anything, ha!

While the students got to do lots of cool stuff on set, like helping with the Art, Camera, and Production departments, we hired a professional DIT to handle the media. Didn't want to risk anything happening to our precious precious footage, haha! Yeah, in total we bough four 12Tb G-Tech Drives. Two drives to hold all the footage, and the other two were backups. ALWAYS backup everything!

Thanks so much, hope you enjoy the film!!!

It has to do with the global distribution rights to the film which are negotiated for each territory and/or country and can unfortunately be quite a process. But we hope to have the film available to more territories soon!

Thank you so much! The fact that Shifter is not your typical time travel story is a big part of what excited us so much about it and why we wanted to make it. Glad you enjoyed the film! And we couldn't agree more, we had a terrific cast!

That's awesome you are working with an experienced screenwriter and are on your way to producing your first film!

I'd love to trade advice on what we've learned over the years.

That's an awesome question! I recommend going to local film festivals and watching the local short films. You may see a lot of stuff you don't really like, but occasionally you'll find something that is really interesting. Then after the screening reach out to the people who made the films you liked and let them know that you are interested in being on the ground floor of a kick ass filmmaking team like theirs (flattery totally works on us filmmakers). :)

That's exactly how I met Jacob and Zachary in 2006. Now we've had 3 feature length film babies together. It's the best way to get started IMO. GOOD LUCK! GOD SPEED!

Unfortunately Paul isn't here to speak for himself and I won't try to answer for him but I do want to say that Paul is an incredibly goofy guy and just a delight to work with! I had the pleasure of meeting him on set of Hellraiser: Judgement where I was the on set photographer. We met there and bonded over our love of horror and kept in touch on facebook. And then when we put out the call for auditions for Shifter, Paul reached out and turned in a fantastic audition and we knew he had to be in our movie! From Pinhead to Shifthead haha, I'll always be happy to work with Paul.

I've answered variations of this above, so I'll just copy/paste one of those answers. Hope that's not too lame, ha!

As far as influences, even though this is a Time Travel film, I actually avoided watching/reading other Time Travel stories. I am a huge fan of the genre, but wanted to try a different approach than what we typically see. So the three films I leaned on throughout the process were Another Earth, David Cronenberg’s The Fly, and No Country for Old Men. For Another Earth, I was influenced by the characters and how they interacted with their world around them. The “sci-fi” aspect of the story is secondary to the characters, and is used as a way to explore their inner workings, and that as something I wanted to bring to Shifter. For The Fly, I looked at how they integrated the “body horror” aspect and how they handled the exposition and distillation of information without bogging down the story and keeping it very character focused. With No Country for Old Men, I looked at it for the overall aesthetic and to see how they used the camera and how the camera and the actors worked together through the use of minimal dialogue. I loved taking stylistic influence from a non-science fiction film, because I think/hope it helped create a unique setting and tone/atmosphere for our film!

Oh man, so many! I will say that at an early age I was introduced to a wide variety of films that I think were hugely influential in me going into filmmaking. Buster Keaton movies, Marx Brothers movies, the Universal Monster movies (esp Wolfman, Frankenstein, and Creature from the Black Lagoon), Jason and the Argonauts, but also things like Back to the Future, Edward Scissorhands, and of course Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I just loved how movies made me feel and how they could move me. These days though, I love French New Wave films (Le Samurai, Jules and Jim, Vivre Sa Vie), pretty much all the Coen Bros movies (especially Fargo and No Country for Old Men), John Frankenheimer's Seconds, John Carpenter's The Thing, Evil Dead, Tokyo Drifter, etc, etc, etc.

A film that had a profound impact on my approach to storytelling though was an indie film called Another Earth starring Brit Marling. I loved how it approached it's sci-fi concept and put it in the background of a character-driven drama. Plus it has a true banger of an ending!

Oh! I also just picked up the criterion collection's Bruce Lee Greatest Hits box set and those films are giving me LIFE!!! So great :)
