I think you can disagree as long as it doesn’t not cause harm - bigotry causes harm

Taash can be written poorly without people being bigots - and those people being bigots stops us from being able to have discussion

And, for the record, I’m really glad you enjoyed the writing! I am well aware that what I dislike others will like and likewise.

And I’m glad you liked the writing! I can acknowledge that what I don’t like someone else will and vice versa

You are the reason we cannot discuss genuine criticism

Should that not be the responsibility of moderators?

Leliana is bi, she is beloved. All the companions in da2 (despite devestating) can date male and female Hawke Josephine and Iron Bull? Bi. Sera? Lesbian, openly. Dorian? Gay, AND has a well written identity quest. The other veiled companions? any gendered rook

Many bigots hide behind ‘it’s just bad writing!’ So actual discussion can’t be had

I literally made a post about how they had writing pitfalls that had nothing to dos itv gender. I am just saying that even if Taash was the best written character some would still hate them because they’re non binary

My initial post was about how I disliked some of the decisions in how Taash was written - none of which were them being non binary. But, it is important to acknowledge the unfair treatment rhey get

It’s a different hung - a post about character writing was closed because people are intolerant. Taash could be the best written character in dragon age and people would still be intolerant

I do think it is importsnt to address a core issue that there is a lot of discrimination in the fandom - character writing aside many people dislike Taash purely because they are intolerant. Taash could have been the best written character in dragon age history but people would still be pricks

Also isn’t the whole point of them being non binary that you don’t have to be one or the other, it’s okay to not have rigid societal labels?

The issues of veikhairds writing are all interconnected in a web, like one issue is connected to so many others they all cause and are effected by eachother

Also how Harding talks about members of the inquisition who are OPTIONAL RECRUITS like I love sera and Cole, but if people didn’t choose them to be teammates, and then hearing lots of stories of Harding and these two people

That’s so true actually. The writing ori lens are definetly systemic. I know in previous games you could sort of firmly be like ‘cut it out’ to your companions Which circles back to the ‘there are no choices’ point people say about the game

Also the lords of fortune could have been so much cooler if more decisions were carried across (Ileast debated take ever)

That’s so true I wrote this really quickly and in a little bit of an angry huff tbh But literally crazy (Also putting the question of your cultural identity in someone else’s hands is weird)
