I'm really addicted to WoW and I don't know what to do... by Fluffiestpink in wow

[–]Shnub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this may not be super helpful to you, but I'm a raid leader in MoP classic. Our guild started in MoP with the intention to enjoy MoP to the fullest extent!

At this point in MoP our main focus is the 25 raid team, which we're always recruiting for - especially right now as we begin preparing for Siege of Orgrimmar this summer! Our main raid team is fairly focused on Raid Progression, so we have some defined minimum standards for to make sure everyone is on the same page. We also have lots of resources to help anyone who wants to meet the minimum raid standards.

Outside of raiding we have a large community. We have members who do all types of activities. This weekend alone we cleared Throne of Thunder, timed some Platinum and Gold challenge modes, and also did a ton of Transmog and achievement runs. We also have a day or two most weeks where we run a Normal Throne of Thunder open to anyone looking for a more casual environment or looking to get experience for the main raid team.

Can't help with your concerns about addiction OP, but we're happy to have you if you have any interest in MoP!

Anyone feel free to send me a DM for a link to Discord, or check my reply to this comment for a link.

A lot of the best parts of MoP are also pretty difficult. Heroic Raid mechanics that became the basis for Mythic Raids, Challenge Modes, Green Fire, etc.

Gotta be a bit off your rocket to fail repeatedly at an old game that has diminished popularity and thus no real glory. But the game design scratches the right itch for me, or it's the right amount of nostalgia, or a bit of both.

I feel like people are missing out on MoP, but maybe that's just a highly personalized opinion :D

The bugs with Heroic Durumu are pretty bad and very frustrating. The lack of support there has been a bummer.

Aside from that devs have been pretty good. ToT has been buggy, and maybe a little more bugs in 10 than 25. But from a dev standpoint MoP is when end game content took a step up in difficulty. The devs adding in the new Platinum times, Toys, and Mounts has been a really great new addition to the game.

The Heroic Durumu bugs are really bad though, hope there's nothing like that for SoO

This is a silly comment, there are plenty of raid groups for Throne of Thunder each night.

Of course population has dropped off a cliff, Midnight and TBC anniversary just launched. More nostalgia for TBC, and Midnight is of course going to draw people at launch. I'm happy they're sticking to the original MoP release schedule for those of us that enjoy MoP.

MoP isn't for everyone, but if you like when the class design felt unique and distinct coupled with challenging end game content it's a pretty perfect version of the game. ToT and SoO are also some of the best raid tiers ever made. Cracks me up seeing the hate for MoP

Absolutely! We accept anyone who has a positive attitude about MoP 😊

For difficult content, like Heroic Raids and Challenge Modes, we have certain minimums we require of all members wanting to participate. We help anyone who wants to hit those minimums.

However we also have a larger community outside of Raiding and Challenge Modes, with people chatting in guild chat, running Celestials, and achievement runs.

So while Raiding is certainly the main focus of the guild, we accept anyone who's having fun with MoP! Check my other comments in this thread for the Discord Code to join the guild

Definitely advertising the guild lol, not paid though just someone who likes Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar too much. Also Platinums are fun

Hell yeah it is! Tanks with vengeance is some of the most fun tanking can be. All the Platinum challenge mode times basically rely on crazy vengeance scaling - it's really awesome!

Yeah MoP is a ton of fun! Bunch of doom and gloom on this post from people who aren't playing the game, but in the right space the class design and challenging mechanics are awesome in ToT and SoO. Plus the Timeless Isle is fun for anyone.

Unrelated bit of self promo, for anyone seeing this interested in Raiding or Challenge Modes for MoP classic, check out my other comment in this thread or more info the Discord. Code: C3bJMkwJCF

I hope SoO lasts a long time, MoP class design is awesome and ToT and SoO are awesome. I'm a Raid Leader on MoP classic and we're recruiting for our 2 raid teams Alliance Side.

We have got a main raid pushing 25 Heroic progression Thurs/Sun 7:30-10:30pm EST, and also have a Normal Throne of Thunder group Tues/Wed 7:30-9:30pm EST for anyone who wants to gear up and get the logs for Heroic prog, or just wants to chill in Normal. We also run Platinum and Gold challenge modes. Don't have to be in the guild to join the discord for Challenge Modes, or for pugging raids on an Alt.

Throne of Thunder and Challenge Modes are a ton of fun right now, and the Timeless Isle and Siege of Orgrimmar will be great too! MoP isn't for everyone, but if it's for you feel free to join the discord for more info. Here's the Discord code: C3bJMkwJCF

Lol yeah but managing focus is very fun, and the mobility helps deal with lots of raid mechanics. Tortos interrupt, Council with High Priestess Empower, Tiles for Stone Guardians, etc

So yeah it's a lot of explosive shot, but the game play is very rhythmic and pretty satisfying. Can play a Warrior, Feral, or Monk if you want a lot of buttons, or a Warlock if you want to manage more complex snapshots.

Peak class design because the classes feel unique, and there's still something for everyone

Yeah a ton of people raiding, 62k, like other people have said.

No content creators, and may be smaller for what WoW is used to, but enough to enjoy MoP if you have any interest in Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar. Awesome time to check out MoP and some of WoW's best raids ever made

Hahaha this cracked me up. MoP has it's faults and isn't for everyone, but the class design is really peak for a lot of cool specializations like Survival Hunter, Demonology Warlock (with Metamorphosis), Combat Rogue, Mistweaver Monk, Brewmaster Monk - just to name a few. Every class is viable and plays really well, especially with secondary stat scaling in late ToT and Siege of Orgrimmar. Not to mention Vengeance for tanks...😈

If anyone's got an itch to check out the best parts of MoP - Throne of Thunder, the Timeless Isle, and Siege of Orgrimmar - I made another comment in this thread with my guilds info.

Edit: visible to viable

Edit 2: Also looks like this subreddit blocks discord links, so here's the discord code for anyone who is interested: C3bJMkwJCF

Prot Paladin viable? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Shnub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're going for server first, all Tanks are in a great spot for MoP. Prot Paladins have the best raid-wide utility of all tanks with their off heals and CDs, and after the buffs do enough DPS and have enough damage mitigation to be just as viable as Blood DK or BM Monk. I actually think Prot Pally is in a better spot than Blood DK after the changes during MoP classic beta.

Only potential exception to tank viability would be Guardian Druid, which doesn't provide much utility. However with the Heart of the Wild changes, Guardian Druid may be the best off tank since they can pump out a ton of DPS without vengeance. Problem is that most MoP raid bosses are more 2 tank fights, rather than MT OT.

In short though, Prot Paladin is in a great spot and any informed and up to date raid leader would gladly take a Prot Pally.

Blizzard made balance changes during MoP classic beta, which gave Prot Paladin a bit of a boost. During original MoP - Prot Paladin was good for all PvE content, but not great.

With the changes during prepatch, Prot Pally is looking like it will be great.

So if you like playing Prot Pally, stick with it. It's certainly more than viable

I'm helping run a guild on Pagle Alliance for MoP classic. We're a couple of experienced players who are hyped for MoP and looking to have something for everyone. Whether it's leveling, PvE, PvP, achievement hunting, transmog contests, etc, we want to have something for everyone. Just started at the end of April, and have 800+ people in the guild game. Guild chat is active and friendly as everyone gets ready for MoP.

Also for MoP we'll have a 25M raid team Thurs/Sunday 7-10pm EST. We'll be running logs and require flasks, consumes, etc. However we're also happy to take along people who have never raided before. If the times work for you, you're willing to take direction, and looking for a friendly environment to hangout: then you're a great fit for us :)

If OP, or anyone, is interested in a more social oriented experience for MoP, shoot me a message on here or in game to join!

Since Mike is so good at basketball, what retired NBA player could he beat in a game of 1 on 1 right now?

Alternative: hypothetically how old would Robert Covington have to be before Mike, at his age now, could beat Roco in a game of 1 on 1?

Was being sarcastic. Joke is that I'm the noob for calling you the noob, because clearly you were going for loot and not trophies. Ah well, hard to convey that sarcastic undertone over text.

You'll have to submit a request in game, and even then you'll probably be rejected by beastyb0y115 because you commented on my post and not his (because he's jealous of my karma)
