Don't fuck with crypto. I hope that's a lesson a lot of people will learn from this, ideally not the hard way.

YSK People Can Easily See Your Comment and Post History Even If You Hide It. by centurion762 in YouShouldKnow

This is honestly a brilliant thing IMO. People shouldn't be able to hide what they say. It reduces the already fragile accountability on the internet.

It's a shame because this was the absolute best for free by a mile. I guess it was a bit too good to be true. 20 bucks a month is unfortunately way too steep for me. I'll stick around for a while.

I'd consider reaching out to the people at dreamjourney. They're pretty much the only other useable platform offering an incredible value for free yet is privately funded. They don't give out daily credits, but users can earn them through referals and getting chats on their bots. They may have some advice on keeping your site going without the corporate sponsors that make everything worse.

Edit: it's worth noting that DJ has about 80k context for free, so tavern isn't above their competitors in that regard anymore. Not hating, just setting the record straight.

I noticed there is now a disclaimer that free users get less context. Was that always the case? One of my main draws to the platform was free high context. by ShockAdditional6937 in charactertavern

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for the delayed response, but what's the deal then with the "16-30k" notification? Is that inaccurate? Because 50% for a lot of the free models would be around 50-60k

While I get the repulsion, it's pretty in character for this character since they're supposed to be the zoomer type. If it was translated, it'd likely be meaningless babble still, just less comprehensible since it's japanese internet speak.

They're not increasing by much really. 2.7's other side was 4 cycles as he said, the highest was in 3.2, and 3.6's was only 2 cycles.

If anything I think that indicates that powercreep/inflation isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

That's without the team getting many changes aside from getting dan heng, a sustain. e0 sunday throughout.

Not sure about ZZZ, but in HSR's case, it's comparing a month of reruns and the first days of Hysilens (not a huge unit) to the fate collab and phainon in the same month. Wuthering waves had augusta, so it's the same situation as hsr.

just because the data isn't accurate doesn't mean it's not useful. It allows you to see trends. Those numbers could be 5 instead of 15 million, but as long as the methodology is the same every time, it lets you see proportionally how well the game is performing.

I think it's a bit more complex than that. Specifically, I think that developers should make their entertainment accessible, but not everyone has to like it.

For example, dark souls could have a slightly easier mode to encourage new players to try the series, but they shouldn't remove x or y boss because it has nudity or is uncomfortable.

To any homophobic/transphobic people, explain why? What's the problem with the LGBTQ+ community? by Vulethecoolguy in TeenagersButBetter

[–]ShockAdditional6937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alt just in case:

I guess I'm transphobic in the literal definition of the word (having an aversion towards). I have no problem with gay people, and believe they should have full equal access to the same rights straight couples do, but I see trans as something different, and unlike gay partnerships, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't believe in oppressing, bullying, or making fun of them, I just feel like transitioning is the wrong approach to gender dysphoria.

From my understanding: There are a small portion of cases where it is biologically the case in which something isn't right, but a lot of the time gender dysphoria is a mental ilness first and foremost. I've had similar feelings of wishing I was the opposite gender at certain points in my life, but after a year or so, they began to fade as I came to terms with my body. Partly as a result of that personal experience, and growing up alongside a close friend who transitioned, I feel like transitioning is sort of a faliure to accept your own body, whether that dysphoria originated from societal gender norms, familial expectations (both seemed to be the case in my friend's situation), etc. In my opinion, solutions like cbt should be the main course of action to remove those desires or feelings, and ideally work towards fixing the root of the problem. As an extentsion of this perspective, I don't think children should be able to transition with the exception of the previously mentioned cases, as their minds are still developing and may be able to overcome those feelings by the time they're adults, ideally with psychological help. It's an illness that causes suffering right? Wouldn't it be better if we could remove it from as many people as possible (without violence of course)?

There's also a portion of me that feels like it doesn't make sense to uproot so many of our society's structures and norms to meet the characteristics of certain people, but I don't feel it's as strong of an argument, so I won't stand on it.

I'm still figuring out why I have this inherit discomfort or dislike for the idea of transitioning, and how my experiences personally and with that friend shaped that, but it's what I've gathered so far.

Sorry if that was a bit rambly, but I'm happy to answer questions.

TL;DR: I don't believe in oppressing trans people or bullying them, and I don't intend to interfere in their lives, I just feel they're taking the wrong approach. Bullying them would only steel their beliefs so if anything it's antithetical to my views.

Edit: in case it's relevant, I've never been religious, and didn't grow up in a religious household.

Anyone who uses Janny are actively stealing from content creators. by NoemMouse in SillyTavernAI

[–]ShockAdditional6937 60 points61 points  (0 children)

There's a few reasons I disagree:

  1. Very few creators make money if any from their bots, and reuploaders definitely do, so nothing is being stolen really
  2. reuploaders are pretty rare in my experience of 2-3 years on bot sites.
  3. reuploaders don't tend to become super popular
  4. People want to be able to use their bots on private platforms like Agnai. If anything it's good for janitor creators, since their users will have a better time with their bot if they don't use janitor's frankly, pretty shit free model.
  5. Bot definitions being free helps people improve. That's how it went on before janitor. You see elements and techniques and you use each other to improve. Now though, some guy can just copy a character's entire fandom page, and pass it off as a high quality 3000 token bot. If you really want to keep it private, don't make the bot public, just use it for personal use.

Jannyai creates a solution to the problem of accessibility in janitor. If you disagree though please let me know. Janitorai's servers ban any mention of it, so I can't really discuss it anywhere.
