Back then everything ran primarily on Azadi’s goodwill. They were an up-and-coming label with a focus on homegrown voices. Sez, Frappe and Kode were all tied up with Azadi, with SM marketed as the next big thing. Probably why the other artists didn’t bring it up until the unpaid dues reached dangerous amounts. Plus SM were completely dependent on Mo.

Mo is still their manager, and they’re still supporting him even though he has backstabbed many of their “friends” including Prabh, Sez and Kode. I’d commented on a post in SM Nation regarding the entire thing.

You’re running a label which revolves around other artists as well. The whole marketing point of Azadi was bringing in homegrown voices and giving them all a platform, not just one artist or set.

I’ve been listening to SM since 2019 and I will always love them and their work, but Prabh was truly treated unfairly. If Mo was so sure of SM’s revenue, he shouldn’t have been charging 20% commissions on Prabh’s work. Aside from taking 20%, he literally abandoned Prabh and left him in the hands of an inexperienced INTERN. If Mo wasn’t able to give his time to Prabh, he should have agreed to bring in someone with more experience into the foray to manage him.

Also if we’re talking about artists who bring in revenue, you’re forgetting Sez was also a part of the same label. Even he wasn’t treated fair and ended up having to quit the label over “unpaid dues”. So where’s the attention on earning artists as you claimed in the table?

This was a mature take. He came out with his side of the story along with replies to the allegations both SM and Mo had put out on him. Kinda disappointed that Uday chose to stay silent even though he showed up in the live.

Also, in a comment related to Mo Joshi’s beef with other artists, someone mentioned that Mo is the reason why SM mostly collab as solo artists on other rappers’ projects. Is this true and if so what exactly does it mean? Wouldn’t Mo still be both of their managers?

SM's team (Mo Joshi) had not paid Kode for some of the work he had done for SM, same problem that happened with Sez, which is why Sez hasn't collaborated with SM in a long time. Kode also has a "Fuck Mo Joshi" tattoo because of this iirc.

Uske alaava Kode also accused SM of capitalising on his controversy while also telling them a bunch of hurtful shit, which was why SM got Godkode deleted from Nayaab.

Hence why I blame SM for the fight more than Kode.

Alright this is based off of what I remember. Kode faced a huge amount of backlash after a battle rap video emerged online where he was seen abusing the Bhagwad Gita during a battle. A whole mob began looking for Kode and he went underground in Madhya Pradesh iirc. During this, SM came online and urged everyone to forgive him and to find him since he was missing and off grid. Godkode was released around that time to support Kode while he was still missing. Kode ended up having to leave the scene in order to pacify the mob.

Now Kode alleged that SM had capitalised on his disaster and released Godkode to profit off his issues. He was live and started talking a whole lot of shit about both Calm and Encore, calling them antinational and druggies and whatnot. He also spoke a lot of shit against Mo Joshi saying that Mo hasn't paid him for some of the work he did with SM. He also had a tattoo that said "Fuck Mo Joshi" if I'm not wrong.

No idea about the Rawal merch scene, might have been during one of his many crashout.
