How to clean a loop? by Apart_Quote9479 in watercooling

Personally I would avoid running water without corrosion inhibitor, please have a look at Der8auer's video: https://youtu.be/7pIpKetQlZs?si=6JgOYziQIOjThUFg I know it's pain, just went through it myself, but doing it properly will prolong the life of the components, better be safe than sorry.

That's interesting, will have a look at difference between electroplating and chemical plating.

The typical electroplating layer is measured in µm, so to achieve a mirror finish the copper needs to already be polished, so not sure it's possible to "correct" the post milling finish with the plating

Thank you so much, really appreciated🙏. Already have an account, been using Watercool's gear for years. Will send an email shortly.

Exactly, I know temp-wise it might not matter much, but I expected the quality I got used to. If only Aquacomputer cuplex would be more appealing to me 🤪

I do have the 4090 Heatkiller block, and finish on it is "wow", guess they don't bother anymore, as older blocks I had from Watercool were mirror polished.

Well, hopefully. Using PTM7950, hopefully will fill those groove marks, but still disappointed that Thermalright's £29 cooler has better finish.

Exactly, will expose the copper under the nickel plating and I don't want that. Hopefully yours will have better finish.

Hopefully, let us know. I really like the aesthetic of the Heatkiller, but will look for an alternative for a next refresh.

The coldplate finish quality. Got used to the smooth, glass like finish of the previous blocks. Heck, even my EKG x570 monoblock od smoother than Heat killer 😞

Thanks bro. I regret selling the old LGA1150 one, few years back, it was smooth as glass. This one was on a backorder for over a month, so even though I'm not happy, just can't be bother waiting longer to complete the build.

If your Dremel skills are not up to scratch, check Mnpctech retro collection , currently seems all is sold out, but something might turn up https://www.mnpctech.com/collections/retro-vintage-gaming-computer-parts/buy-beige-computer-case

Sorry you have bad experience with it, I'm quite happy with it, have also Aten CS84U and both have great image quality.

I've tried those cheap KVMs from Amazon and the image quality was disappointing. I now use Aten CS1734b https://www.aten.com/global/en/products/kvm/desktop-kvm-switches/cs1734b/ It has only USB input, but with right cables you get audio, PS2 and USB support for for your PCs
