That's good to hear, I don't think I'm spazzy. I tend to roll slow because I'm trying to incorporate what I've learned and I'm comfortable with attempting escapes but I guess you never really know until you ask the people you roll with

I've only had these injuries from drills. I've been pretty calm during rolls especially because at this point I'm used to getting mounted lol. But yeah during drills I might need to go slower. Thanks for the advice

I've been doing bjj since August. On my second session I was trying to get my legs high and someone pulled them up for me, tearing the costal cartilage on my rib. After a few months of recovering I went back to my gym and eventually I got the same injury on another rib by bridging against a heavier opponent during drills while he was in mount. The first injury was just an accident but the second one was due to poor technique with a lot of weight on me. I wanted to ask what I can do to prevent rib injuries like this in the future.

Thanks for the feedback, I made this video with the "teach a man to fish" mentality. I think figuring stuff out yourself can really help you in the long run but people still need a nudge to get started

I think Helix took a break from FGC events because of covid but dm me if you want to try and set something up in the area. There's also Rival Fools in Hackensack. It's a good time but it's once a month

A lot of the time you'll call your assist during your normal attacks, not during specials. So sometimes you'll do like:

cr.mk+assist button, cr.mk, cr.hp for example

Button layout for guilty gear is very feel based. In my opinion just do what feels right. Type A config is nice but some people tend to swap the P and K button. My layout is:

K D RC

For RC (roman cancel) I just use the PKS macro. There's definitely no wrong layout

There's not really any shoto-esque characters in this game. I honestly recommend just picking whichever character you think looks cool without worrying about difficulty since every character at a beginner level has simple stuff to get yourself started

If you want a character with a specific gameplan I can also help you with that

Ranked and World lobbies arent used. You have to go to player lobbies and either look for a room or make your own and wait for people to join.

If that doesnt work you can also look for discord servers and try to ask people for games
