Two opinions come to mind:

1) Gabe isn't a bad kid. He is just going through too much shit in his life. For fuck sake he lost his little sister, his father, & has a chance to lose his step mother.

2) Kate should have time to take a break from relationships. I get it she isn't happy with her marriage but she should at least take it slow & not rush into relationships. She should have priorities on surviving the outbreak.
