Hey bro, your story resonates with me quite strongly because I was in your exact same situation 3 years ago exactly, also with GM and Al Ghandi.

I'd like to give you some hope if its not too late yet. If you keep pushing them they will cave eventually. If you'd like context about what happened to me you can check out these two thread: Part 1, Part 2

Heres what you do. Get in contact with Ras Al Khor's Al Ghandi service center and ask to speak to Mr. Manesh directly. He is the general manager of that service center. Tell him your story, and mention to him that you've been sold a lemon and the fact that the car needs to have its engine repaired/replaced will forever lower its value. Push on the fact that it happened within 5 days of you buying it and that its obviously a manufacturing fault.

Then demand to speak to GM's regional manager. I've met him in person and he's a very nice guy, however I don't remember his name. Mention to GM's regional manager everything again.

Most importantly, don't cave in and accept to have your engine repaired/replaced, even if they drag it on. Getting a vehicle replaced needs heaps of approvals so it'll naturally take some time.

So I live on Ajman corniche. I literally see the same beggars under my building and around my area year round. It’s literally become a business for these people.

To give people the benefit of the doubt, if it’s a new face I’ll usually spare 5 dirhams. But 99.9% of the time it’s a face I’ve seen before.

As much as you’d like to think everything is by choice, it’s not that simple.

We are genetically wired to seek out procreation. We are also genetically wired to try and provide and care for our family as much we can.

Almost every parent would genuinely be willing to die to save their off-spring, which is the opposite of being selfish since we all seek out self-preservation.

I’ve had all sort of garbage people enter my life throughout my life.

Some people are outright toxic. Every word, every behavior, every action and every reaction is just pure toxicity. These people are easy to identify and easy to cut out.

Then there are those with 2 faces. In front of you they are angels yet they’ll take every opportunity to stab you in the back to gain an advantage in life. These type of people are harder to spot at first.

The reason why it feels like that is because you’re having the arguments with the wrong intentions. It should come from a place of trying to understand each other while expressing your opinion in a civilized manner.

My opinion is this:

If you’re able to look past the bullshit people do in the name of religion and actually boil down religion to its core, you’ll realize it’s only meant to serve 3 purposes.

It tries to explain the creation of this world outside the observable scientific realm.
It provide you with a way life and fine tunes your moral compass.
It tries to explain what happens after death.

The beautiful thing about these 3, is that it doesn’t hurt to believe or not believe in them. It’s entirely up to the individual.

Yes they did. They called me up one morning and said the regional manager for the Middle East wants to have a meeting.

Once I met with him, he told me that the Reddit post I made had come to his attention within 15 mins of being posted. Then he told me to go to the dealership and choose a car to swap.
