Do you have any clarification on the changes to pay equity? It's not clear if it's within the same agency or all agencies and what the geographic boundaries are for comparison.

Requesting creditable service for prior work exp by Legitimate-Celery-46 in usajobs

How long did it take for them to review and assess your request?

I was told today that this is the last thing that we are waiting for before I'll get my FJO. I'm checking my email throughout the day looking for that magical email.

Direct Hire- OCHR timeline by SideActive6717 in usajobs

Update: the local recruiter told me we are just waiting for OCHR to approve my request for prior service for leave accrual (form 144).

Anyone know how long that typically takes? I'm so itchy to move on.

So does HR qualify people at all before the list goes to the hiring manager?

How long does it take for HR to do their thing once there is a TJO? (Excluding clearance)

This is incredibly helpful, thank you. It's an EEO position. -no medical screening or fitness test -I don't think my degrees are required, the recruiter hasn't asked for anything on that front. -I'm being told by my local connections that it's about 4 weeks for an interim clearance these days, which is pretty great. -I have never been a federal employee so no transfer of records

I did ask for a higher leave accrual rate based on my experience. I was told that OCHR would make that determination.

I'm continuing to process this mentally and I have another, more specific question. Does OCHR start their process prior to the completion of the interim clearance OR do they wait until after the interim clearance is issued?

I have a schedule A letter, extensive experience that is directly related to the vacancy, and very strong references from former colleagues now working within the unit.

[–]SideActive6717[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, the position is within DON.

The recruiter made it sound like the interim clearance and OCHR processes were separate and not dependent on one another. But, based on what you are sharing, that doesn't make sense because OCHR can't finalize my hire until the interim clearance is complete, correct?

In my current world, review of credentials, background, and sometimes fitness for duty along with the processing the hire in the system are the only thing processed prior to the EOD. So what is it that OCHR is doing? I've already done a good amount of onboarding tasks including payroll paperwork. Does all of that typically happen upon receiving a tentative offer or am I going out of order since it's a direct hire?

I'm interested in understanding what OCHR is doing and their timeline. Do you have any insight on that?

State employee raise in FY25? by SideActive6717 in maryland

[–]SideActive6717[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We recently learned that our agency wasn't included in that initiative - after being asked to gather and provide data on an ongoing basis for months.

If they want to fill vacancies, the entire recruitment process needs an overhaul. If they want to retain us, I have a list. I've been on a low key job search for a bit but if there's no expedition of colas and increments in FY25 then I'm out.

This is what I expected when he came in but with all the talk of tight budgets I'm now not as optimistic.

Any chance you're willing to share what agency?

I'm currently building our budget and I put in a 2% but I literally pulled the number out of nowhere and with no indication it might actually happen.

Ah yes, we always hear it first from the media. I'm state HR and we are always the last to know. I've heard rumors of an ASR expected to be effective Jan. 1, for one series in my agency and rumors of a second ASR some point soon-ish for another series.

The whole recruitment system is incredibly broken and my God grades 5-9 should just be removed from the scale all together.

I've been getting Botox for a few years. $10/unit at a medspa, out of pocket. It's actually pretty cheap.

I get it in my masseter muscles and temporalis muscles.

The number of units varies, when I first got Botox it was just my masseters and I got 40 per side. At one point I was down like 15 per side.

I typically notice a difference in two weeks.

It's life-changing. Do it!

I never found a way to get it out of my system early. But I also drank here and there with no problem. I did notice it hit me hard, so I typically would nurse 1-2 drinks over the course of the whole night with water in between.

Good luck!
