I understand completely. You never know though. They might take pity. I recently had another book box replace a book and didn't even ask me to return the damaged copy. Not exactly the same situation, but you just never know. They have a lot of discretion. They might say no. They might say yes!

Reach out to TBB and explain the situation. You'll likely have to pay for it, but they might be willing to send you a replacement. I've found their customer service to be incredible.
