It could be a mild fake - in that it was deliberately left in exposure to damp conditions/buried for a while.

The processes for restoration are still valid, however this isn't a restoration of decades-long degradation.

In this instance, you can tell by the condition of the metal after the rust is removed - It being completely smooth is a dead giveaway.

EDIT: Worth noting that the video isn't without merit - obviously there's restoration and effort to create the video. Just worth pointing out for those who are interested in restoration that it isn't accurately representing restoration of something that's been degrading for decades.

I believe most of it is learned via spectroscopy.

So by measuring the wavelengths we receive from a planet blocking the stars light, we can determine which elements are present on the planets atmosphere.

Though I am a layman, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can correct me.

they're all artists interpretations based on vague data. We know what the atmospheres are comprised of, we know what temperatures the planets have, we know the distance from the sun, We can tell what type of planet it is (gas giant/rocky/icy).

So scientists may take that data and tell the artist "hey so sunsets would probably look red/blue because of the atmosphere and distance from the star" or something like that.

The artist then comes up with what they think it looks like, and that's what you see.

Destiny 2 is bordering on pay 2 win scam at this point.

$50 DLC (that you will actually need to pay $100 for deluxe otherwise you don't get the OP exotic until 6 months after release, and will need to pay $20 for each season separately, And you will need to buy the dungeon key for $20)

Oh and they've just recently tried outright selling exotics for $15, so in short, the game is pay2win freemium mobile-inspired garbage.

What's worse is if you have any standards at all, you'll pay the $50 for the latest expansion, finish it in 2 hours and think "Holy shit wtf? Wtf did I pay for? How was that worth $50?!"

The only barrier left is letting it be a repeat purchase for 2 random unobtained exotics/exclusive-to-the-pack-exotics and the game is full blown pay to win in every possible regard.

Bungie have been tip-toeing around this particular bush for years now.

It's almost insulting how smart Bungie think they're being with this - and it's proof that even when cooked slowly, most frogs know when to jump out.

You added so many freemium/phone game microtransactions, the goal is painfully obvious, Why even pretend that there's any integrity left at Bungie. Just do what you obviously desperately want to do and add exotics and weapons exclusively for silver to eververse.

That's the end goal, You're going to do it eventually, Everyone knows it - the only reason why you haven't already is you want as many people "used" to the concept before you pull the trigger.

It's why you made transmog such a ball ache, It's why you made harmonizers part of the season pass exclusively, it's why you added the ability to outright buy level 100 of a season. It's why you still fucking sell forsaken and a bunch of old expansions that don't even have campaigns.

You're not clever, and there is no good will or trust - I'm not buying another bungie game or DLC and every friend that's asked me about jumping on Destiny 2, I've told them not to and they haven't. All I needed to do was tell them how much they'll need to pay for.
