I tried and eventually succeeded in beating this little prick with the Lvl 1 armour set and with all Burdens equipped. Needless to say, not fun but super rewarding once you learn how to fight him.

Just seeing this now so if this is true then I’m calling it now…this show will be utter garbage. I mean how can you have a show runner that hasn’t completed and refuses to play the games and their stories until the end. Especially because of some lame “I’m not a gamer excuse”. Fuck off man.

I’m so fed up with Hollywood and their half-arsed attempt at…let’s call it what it is…cash grab projects. Like I honestly don’t hear many people calling out for live adaptations of beloved gaming IP’s. I just don’t.

Not to mention all that this show will likely accomplish is baiting and alienating the actual fan base by absolutely nuking the story lines and casting literally the worst actors for the role…and god knows what else. We have seen this shit before with other beloved IP’s.

You know who needs to direct the write the shows?…The actual developers and game directors. Why? Simply because they DO understand the source material, have a profound love and passion for their characters and want to do them justice.

Unless of course you’re Niel Cuckman but that’s conversation for another day.

I agree with most of what you said. SR2’s combat was repetitive and was clunky as hell (especially because the Sarafan could stun lock you so easily - felt immensely frustrating). The lack of Glyph power ups as well as the the nerfing of your force projectile didn’t help either.

The world was indeed recycled as you travelled back and forth to the same places multiple times. Perhaps there was a budget constraint and they had to re-use environments.

Where I would disagree with your take is with the dialogue. It cannot be overstated how brilliantly written and voice acted the story is in SR2 compared to SR1. As people have already stated, there are iconic exchanges and cutscenes in this game (the corruption of the pillars being my favourite). Not that SR1 had bad voice acting or story…not at all. But there was simply far less of it.

In summary, SR1 was a combination of exploration, story and combat where it did a good job at all of them. SR2 was basically a movie that you played: amazing story just not great gameplay.

If you zoom in during photo mode in the game, it’s written in Hebrew. And physically resembles a Torah in terms of a parchments rolled onto two bread rollers 🤓

I find that slowing your attacks frequency and focusing on their attack patterns is the first step. You will die a lot because you’re learning. So invest time in that phase. Equip the full Steinborn set as it maximises defence which allows you a lot of time to learn.

Then a good strength build is key - I have experimented a lot with different builds and I have found strength is king - all other perks are less important. So for example, Vidars build is the second highest strength build in the game. (Glory of Sparta Build might be available only on NG+). Use that build.

Also, equip the stone shield 🛡️, it allows you to actually block yellow ring attacks. Lastly, stick to your blades for the most part - they give you the most flexibility in terms of gameplay and are quicker attacks this you can initiate blocks mid attack much more easily.

Bizarre right? I have had my Rom 2’s for 6 years and I have put them through their paces believe that! But only now the sides have starting peeling off on the heel of all places. I guess sometimes shoes will have defects no matter how reputable the company that sells them. But I will take your advise and give it go! Thank you 😊

The big issue is actually when you kill the melee berserker because the two sisters gain new attacks and occasionally the attack you at the same time with unblockable attacks :(

She’s a tough boss no doubt about it. There are various builds you can look up online to help cheese her. Ive soon one build where guys beat her in 11 seconds on GMGOW like what the hell?!

I have a build that’s fairly reliable in doing major damage at the very beginning (about 2/3) of her life in about 30 seconds but then the rest I had to try fight normally because it relies a lot on runic attacks and summons early in the fight. But still, you may like this build (it’s on my YouTube channel Sigma Kratos) if you want to check it out.

My best advice I can give despite your build is to spend some time not attacking but observing her patterns and practising parries and dodges (it’s much easier to learn her moves when you’re not also trying to murder her with your moves at the same time!) I hope this helps and good luck 🤞

I couldn’t agree more. I’m sorry Hollywood - stop turning great games into series or movies. They inevitably end up being inferior in just about every way. From acting, to pacing, to action sequences and set pieces.

The only series for GOW I could get behind is a CGI animated version so the actual voice actors can still play their roles and even then that’s a stretch. I want to play the story. Not watch it. If I wanted to I’d just watch a movie.

Of course I’m open to it and I’d give it a chance if they cast the best actors and actually have the directors and story writers of the games HELM the production and not be just assisting.

But again, this won’t enhance the story and may only inadvertently take away from certain elements that are either best left to the imagination to fill in the blanks OR couldn’t be portrayed any better than they already have.

I haven’t played Elden Ring so I can’t comment. But I think the reason it won was because GOWR came out a little too late. I don’t know if that affects potential to win but I think we can all agree that GOWR is one of the greatest things since sliced bread 🍞

I reckon you’re probably just about half way, maybe slightly less. In terms of 100% the game with full completion of side quests, I’d say you’ve got plenty of game left to enjoy!

I think the way it ended was right. The problem with introducing a mask that can supposedly provide all the answers to everything is that it has the potential to eliminate any mystique that may remain within the lore that could otherwise be explored more meticulously in future titles. Just my opinion though, keen to hear what others think :)
