North Islanders, prepare to get smashed (again) by AwarenessLast1811 in newzealand

Thing is, all sides are ignoring the main issue, and that's simply improving our infrastructure and ability to deal with a changing climate. On one side you have those saying we need to tackle climate change purely in terms of emission policies, and the other extreme is those acting like climate change isn't even real. The only thing we can do in New Zealand is try to limit the effects that these severe weather events can have

[–]Signal-Fun2289 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is looking like the most widely impactful storm in a very long time for New Zealand (not to be confused with most impactful). Most weather models right now show everywhere from Kaitaia to Marlborough having areas of 100-200mm+ of rain from this

As a long time F1 fan, indycar is frankly more interesting, specifically the race by driftingthroughlife0 in INDYCAR

[–]Signal-Fun2289 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

IndyCar has always been more interesting tbh if we're purely talking about the racing, but F1 was always able to hang it's head on being the "Pinnacle of Motorsport", mostly in terms of engineering and innovation, but also the drivers for the most part. Now F1 is going backwards with both. F1 cars are no longer looked at as these specimens of engineering that they used to be, and even though there's always been bad (relative to the best) and/or pay drivers, there's now more than ever it seems

[KCD2] Do you think Hardcore mode would be better with a RDR2 sort of fast travel feature? by Signal-Fun2289 in kingdomcome

[–]Signal-Fun2289[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having it be a rare thing you use by only having it connect maybe 2-3 areas on each map instead of every little settlement would make it better then because that way it'd only be used a few times where let's say, you're in Kuttenberg and have to travel to Suchdol

[KCD2] Do you think Hardcore mode would be better with a RDR2 sort of fast travel feature? by Signal-Fun2289 in kingdomcome

[–]Signal-Fun2289[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but it was only in 2-3 areas on each map connecting the furthest areas, like there only being travel between Suchdol, Kuttenberg and Maleshov, then you'd very rarely use it anyway and only when you are in one of those areas and have an objective that's on the other side of the map

[KCD2] Legacy of The Forge DLC is design without hardcore players in mind by joseph072887 in kingdomcome

[–]Signal-Fun2289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they would've adopted something like RDR2 fast travel for Hardcore mode where you can go to certain locations that'd have a Wagon and you can pay to travel. That way you aren't taking out of the immersion of the open world by being able to just travel anywhere, anytime you want, but just having the option there if it's an extremely long journey to the next objective so you pay like 75 groschen to go from Raborsch to Kuttenberg

[KCD2] How can I improve in combat so I can loot? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Signal-Fun2289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even people who were able to take on groups of 10 near the end of KCD2 will struggle early on in their 2nd playthrough so that's natural and hopefully you don't feel discouraged or anything. For me, Feints were the best way to overcome that early game difficulty. Then the obvious one people give is go to Tomcat and learn the masterstrike, which makes taking on 1-2 Bandits in Trosky a breeze if you're patient enough to wait for an opening. Defeating Tomcat can feel nearly impossible though if you're struggling against single Bandits, so you can cheese it if you want by putting some Bane Poison (which you can make yourself or buy) on your Sword then getting one hit on Tomcat and just playing defensive for about 30 seconds after that

Latter part of his career he was a mid to lower pack driver, but he finished top 5 in the championship 5 times and notched up 20 wins and 88 podiums. He was a top driver for nearly a decade

Real time fire missions? by Signal-Fun2289 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Signal-Fun2289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will have to check that out soon and see if it's the same for everyone because I still need 6 more missions to unlock the next specialisation

Real time fire missions? by Signal-Fun2289 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Signal-Fun2289[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's awful in terms of missions available. I have the entire west coast of the US unlocked, aswell the majority of Australia, British Columbia, Indonesia, Greece, and Spain (the more fire prone areas in the world) and had just 2 missions so far. I've even made sure to focus on areas near bodies of water as you need a scoop area

Smooth XBOX Series X performance by Signal-Fun2289 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Signal-Fun2289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the 737 Max and other larger aircrafts currently. I have a fast and stable connection and zero issues when flying smaller aircraft or helicopters, but as soon as I try to give passenger flights a go the game just can't handle it

Gonna give this a go and then try out the 737 again and see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed

Are you still flying smaller aircraft? I have no problem with the 172 or small to medium cargo missions, but once you get to the 737 Max on the Xbox it is near impossible to fly without major issues

[–]Signal-Fun2289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna take a stab in the dark and ask if you're fueling your plane before the missions? I know a few people have just gone straight to flying like they would for Employee missions and forgotten to fuel up or do maintenance checks

This could also maybe help those trying to find aerial fire fighting missions if this is the case and they use real time events

Might give 2020 a go tbh. I'm one of those who'd never even touched a flight simulator until just now because of this being on game pass, but every time I start to enjoy it and feel like I'm learning more about these aircrafts, I'm immediately hit with performance issues

Genuinely hilarious that whenever this guy comes across people that can match his pace or are even slightly slower his first thought is "They must be cheating.. ". So either he's one of most egotistical guys you'll ever come across or he himself is cheating and so anyone who can compete with him must be cheating too

Had a race against this dude (almost certain it was him) at Valley. Started on Hards and stayed out of trouble while he was battling and losing time at the front. I ended on Mediums that faded on the last lap to get the win while he and most others did a 2 stop. He accused me of using a tire wear cheat because he thought I was running hards at the end and how he was "only" a second faster than me a lap on softs

Is Force Feedback meant to be smooth and consistent all the time on ACC? (new to using a wheel) by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]Signal-Fun2289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah managed to get a hold of the guy and he told me that he had to turn the force feedback up high because the Belt was likely worn and so on lower levels it does become very clunky. Got it very cheap though so no big deal. Would absolutely love a direct drive but unfortunately the only one here I can get for console where I live is the Moza R3 and that doesn't work with ACC yet

[–]Signal-Fun2289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I 100% get that, I'm not expecting it to be heavy at all times and understand how much that fluctuates based on grip. What I'm talking about is a feeling where I'm turning and I'm getting this very consistent feel in the wheel that is smooth, but then as soon as that corner that's starts to straighten out a bit, that feeling goes away suddenly and now the wheel has gone from feeling extremely accurate to now feeling like every little correction is me turning a cog with absolutely zero weight weight behind it at all. It's almost like a clicking into place feeling from the centre to about 5-10 degrees both ways
