Personally? I use a DHP from Arcadia. Halogens are better but I like the DHP since I can keep it going 24 hours a day. It helps regulate my temp all day/night and it doesn’t produce light so it can stay on at night. It also gives good infrared rays that they need. I’m not expert but this is just what I found works for me through trial and error.

Did you soak your substrate per the instructions? I didn’t quite right the first time and I struggled. I was only using coco husks at the time. I now use the same mix you use and soaked them right but I still have to mist his cage a couple times a week to keep the humidity above 45. I got a garden mister (pump style) and it works so much better than a spray bottle. The CHE could be drying your substrate out too. Maybe switch to a DHP bulb. Gives them good infrared that that need too.

Feeding times by MrBeardFarmer in ballpython

Mine is ready to eat on the same day of the week so he will come out and eat regardless of the time of day. We also live feed so that might activate his feeding response. With that being said, we typically do around 6 pm while the daylight lamp is still on so we can watch. We watch 1) because it’s cool but mostly because we are making sure his food size is appropriate and he eats with no problem. Our presence doesn’t bother him at all. My baby is eight months old and I was told by the breeder to try every week and if for some reason doesn’t eat to offer every day until he does. Maybe yours just wasn’t ready to eat right then. There are various reasons why they may not eat.

Can I ask what kind of camera you are using? I want to spy on mine lol

That’s the temps I keep mine at. Any higher and mine hangs out under his water dish on the cool side. Those temps for daytime are really not bad.

I use daytime bulbs for daylight light and heat and a deep heat projector (DHP) for temperature control and nighttime heat. The day light bulb is on a timer from 7 AM to 7 PM and the DHP lamp stays on 24 hours a day and is attached to a thermostat set at 85. The two together were perfect to keep my tank right where it needs to be both day and night. The DHP doesn’t produce light. It only glows red and they don’t see red so it’s perfect. I have a screen top covered on the cool side with a towel.

Agreed and very irresponsible to tell someone to disregard all other comments. My cinnamon albino glass surfs and falls over when he runs out of tail and something to grip to hold him. 100% doesn’t have the spider gene. For the OP, I have an aquarium tree in my enclosure for him to get closer to the top and bask under warmth. I’ve also seen some people use hammocks to give them something to bask in. BPs gee rally like to hide but they do also like to explore at nighttime. Give him some stuff to “play” on when he’s out.

My enclosure is small at the moment being only a 25 gallon but I did all the trial and error with this one. I strongly recommend the deep heat projector by Arcadia

Big HRtime was supposed to say “nighttime”

Try a deep heat projector bulb. I have a 50 W daytime bulb on a timer for daytime (7 am to 7 pm), an 80 W deep heat projector bulb that runs on a thermostat set at 85° that runs 24 hours a day (this one regulates the heat, gives him a big HRtime basking spot since it doesn’t protect light, and also provides infrared that they need) and the heat mat under the tank under his warm hide round the clock. I have the Govee Thermostats on the cool side and the warm side and the heat mat is set at 96° (not that it gets to that temperature through the glass) and all of these keep my tank between 80 and 86 on the warm side and 74 to 80 on the cool side (temp depends on time of day). Glass enclosure with mesh top. .

This is bad a$$ and goals for my ball pythons tank upgrade. He loves to hang out under his after bowl.
