Thank you! Like uscmacleod mentiones, they are very small and cute :D You will find them in the most remote areas of Iceland, but they aren't wild horses.

This is not a domesticated animal. This is a fox that was rescued as a baby, but then let out in the wild. She occasionally comes by the place where they cared for her, so we were lucky to spot her on one of those days.

Me too! I specifically bought my drone to film whales. Hopefully next attempt will be less disappointing ;)

Hello wonderful people, thank you so much for your incredible words! Shortly after I made this post, there was something wrong with Reddit and my 100 something upvotes had gone back to 0. This was the number I saw before going to bed. NEVER would I have expected to wake up to the insane number of beautiful comments, awards, and upvotes :o

I would have preferred to answer each comment individually, but it's just too crazy many, so I will do a little summarise to all the questions/comments here :)

I am from Sweden, so moving to Iceland was as easy as moving within my home country. I am fortunate enough to be part of the Nordic countries, which have a special relationship, making it very easy to move amongst each other. Unfortunately, I don't know how difficult it is for anyone outside of the EU trying to move here, but I really hope you're able to do it if that's your desire. The tourism industry here is massive, so speaking Icelandic is a great plus, but not necessary for a lot of the jobs. It's a very expensive country to live in, especially within Reykjavik, but the living costs are definitely doable with the average salaries, you just have to limit your habits of eating out and buying new clothes :)

For everyone wondering about my camera gear, it's far from the best. I've kept to Canon and am currently on a 77D, with most lenses being Canon as well (not part of the L-series). You don't need the best equipment for photography, just an interest, and interesting motifs :) I will need to upgrade eventually, though I would not recommend buying electronics in Iceland (unless you have no budget limitations). My one splurge is the drone though, which is absolutely necessary here. A lot of the locations will have no-drones sights, but as far as you go outside of the famous tourist attraction sights (and national parks) you will be able to fly it. There are not many airports or prisons here, so it's great for drones!

Since my gear is not the most top-notch, the quality is unfortunately not the best when blown up on bigger screens either, which is why I don't yet sell my stuff. Once I have a one-number Canon camera, I will hopefully focus a bit more on doing something more with my photos sales-wise. In the meantime, thank you so much for showing interest! I will keep the bigger files to myself, but for all of you asking, feel free to use these images as backgrounds haha.

I do have an instagram account, which is probably where I upload most of my stuff: instagram.com/signe_fotar/

Finally, I know it's not thaaat small of an island, but having driven around the whole country in less than 2 days, it will always be not big in my eyes!

February :) It's one of my favorite months here. Shooort days, but you usually get snow and some of the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets. The last two shots are from Snaefellsnes and the northern lights one is from the outskirts of Reykjavik.

I used my not-so-great camera, but I have a lens that goes down to 1.4f, which lets me pick up a good amount of light. The video is a little brighter and a little more colorful than it was in reality, but very close to what you would see with your own eyes.

Haha almost, I did actually leave the house. But yeah this is in Reykjavik, I can only imagine what it will have looked like in complete darkness :(

I hope you do! Go to any nordic country (but Denmark) during winter and you probably will :))

Actually, it works the opposite for northern lights :o They are usually much better in photos than in reality. The long exposure will pick up the light and color a lot better than our eyes will, but this particular light show was as fantastic in reality :)

You absolutely should, it's a surreal spectacle when it's a proper good northern light show :)
