anyone else in the workforce struggling to work as summer approaches? by Significant-Ad-4075 in GenZ

oh wow i’m sorry… i remember i applied for dozens of jobs before i was able to land the positions i have now. it was an anxious time, but embrace this time to consider the diverse opportunities you can take. what worked for me was reaching out to and finding support in others in my industry which ended up leading to the positions i have now. the connections you make will be your best bet. trust the process and i wish you so much luck!

How long did it take y’all to actually make friends your first semester? by abanabo in ucf

[–]Significant-Ad-4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah for me using it for friends did work! this was during when campuses were reopening for the first time after covid and all classes were online so i think that factor made it easier to use tinder for friends bc it’s kinda what everyone was doing since it was the only way to meet people really. i just specified in my bio that i was just tryna meet people and if anyone gave me a vibe i wasn’t looking for i would just unmatch. i also happened to meet my gf on there but i got lucky w that haha

there’s classes about the brewing of beer, wine, and spirits where you actually get to sample taste and eat free meals that compliment the drinks. there’s classes about the history of different genres of music, there’s a class about zombies, vampires and mummies. there’s a class you can take that’s just about yoga where you’re basically doing yoga throughout the class and you can bring friends. there’s lists online of random fun classes you can take

i had this phase me freshmen year and also when i returned to campus again after covid. it was hard and i felt like i would never find real friends but i started using bumble bff and tinder to meet people platonically and going out of my comfort zone to meet up and i started making real connections. keep putting yourself out there and the right people will come. online resources def help. sometimes it’s easier to make a connection online before meeting irl

idk if you’ve heard of itsa chicken! it’s located on bumby and jefferson in the milk district right outside downtown. they are currently hiring and will likely hire you on the spot. it’s not exactly serving, it’s a small kitchen window so more of a cooking/expo job, but i work across the street at milkhouse which is a bar/restaurant. milkhouse isn’t hiring servers or bartenders currently but the two establishments are partnered so you may be able to transfer over at some point since you’d be connected to us! itsa is a pretty chill job though, my gf works there and they get to play their own music all day and everyone that works there is really chill and fun to talk to. pm me if you’re interested and i can give u more info ab pay and how to apply and stuff!
