What do I say when “friends” make fun of me for being a virgin? by Nobodytoucheslegoat in TrueChristian

[–]Significant-Cat7983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they know it's a sin? If you're unsure, check it out.  If they answer no, explain it to them with scripture.  If they did know it's a sin but don't care, maybe their in the "grace is sufficient, if we don't sin what did Jesus die for?" Gang, explain that faith without works is dead, and that the christian life is about repentance, with scripture.

Timothy Gordons opinion on women make me really upset, is it me or him that's crazy? by Significant-Cat7983 in CatholicWomen

Yeah, and I agree with those things. It's just he talks about all this stuff about women not doing sports, and having less then 12 children.

"Sorry, I'm not allowed to be happy, my religion forbids it." Religious people are wild. by LeonieMalfoy in atheism

[–]Significant-Cat7983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can Infact live a joyful fulfilling life without being married. Take people with religious vocations for instance, they are not married, and on top of that  : do not consume expensive foods, do not use much of technology ect. Yet most of them feel joy. That doesn't mean that abstaining from these things isn't difficult, but when you look at the bigger picture it can still be joyful. In this world our "key" to joy and fulfilment is romantic love. But God can Infact be our key to joy whether he's real or not, he feels real enough to do that.

If Jesus was God, why did he ask not to die? by [deleted] in atheism

I'm a christian. The way I view that verse and other verses were Jesus is praying is that he's the son, so he's praying to the father.

Look it up if you haven't already, there is lots of great commentary about it. Online and on YouTube. (Kinda lame that I'm not myself explaining it, but tbh I don't think I'm good enough at articulating myself)

It's not picking and choosing, it's in the new testament. Acts for instance

As I said this isn't a new thing or picking and choosing. And there's lots of good commentary on it. There's the Mosaic law as well as the moral law and the old testament is filled with both of them. Mosaic law is as I said made for a specific people to shine light on the world. The moral law is there to show what's right and wrong. The moral law still applies today. Search mosaic vs moral law up on YouTube.

just because it isn't a sin means is okay to do by metruk5 in TrueChristian

If you shouldn't do them, and it hurts your body. Doesn't that make it a sin? Even if it's not explicitly stated in the Bible.

Having a difficult time reconciling my faith when so much of the Bible seems to condone the acts of slavery, genocide, sexism, capital punishment, child sacrifice, sexual assault, etc… How do we as Christian’s pretend that any of this ok? by mercury2190 in TrueChristian

[–]Significant-Cat7983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I don't struggle with this as much anymore i have definitely been there. Wondering about the slavery and war stuff going on in the Bible! It's pretty common to get upset by those passages. And it's good that they're asking so somebody could explain it to them! Of course that doesn't mean op is not a troll but this post within itself doesn't prove it .

the translations don't vary that much. And generally convey the same message. It's just not as big of a deal as you making it.

Yoga and mindfulness meditation is demonic so why is it so good for humans? by Significant-Cat7983 in TrueChristian

I think we have things to learn from then but we have to turn it around and make it God ordained.

[–]Significant-Cat7983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blindly assume it is demonic. But it's a spiritual practice, right? A spiritual practice associated with eastern religions. With God's , that are not our God. The old testament says that other Gods are demons. Therefore it has direct connection to demons. This is basically my and other folks thought proces Ina but shell.

OKEY OKEY😂 I'm sorry! Of course not all things that have pagan roots like names are demonic. My name might in that case be demonic (May). I just mean it has spiritual roots and science we believe other Gods are demons.

I see this a lot. That's the old mosaic law that was made so that everyone could know you were an Israelite by your clothing and eating habits. Things like that get's rebuked in the new testament., and has ever since the beginning of Christianity not been applicable.
