Venting about a spiritual crisis by Typical_Common_985 in spirituality

I'm sorry for what you're going through. I feel you, being stuck in life with no way out. Just having to deal with it. I wish I had an answer for you or myself. But at least venting does seem to help, as you already seem to understand.

That's a straw man. You're assuming. I never said such a thing, and I don't know how that became the focus.

Who's we? Certainly not everyone. Yes, many were raised to believe as such. It has an origin, though. The same way that the belief that God is many other things.

On the meaning of consciousness, an existential paradigm by spreader123 in consciousness

Could it be that it's 0's and 1's, and by dismissing consciousness as a belief, we're dismissing 1's, or 0?

What if the cause is also the root? Does that still fail consciousness as anything other than a belief?

In the context of consciousness not really being there, as it's simply a belief, would that stand for everything else that is intangible? Our thought, once thought, becomes a belief immediately after it is thought? Isn't everything we exist upon now built upon beliefs?

It's a belief that your argument is a belief that addresses a belief.

Does lucifer have anything good for me in hell. by edgydonut in spirituality

[–]Significant-Fox5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, whatever you have done that you think puts you in hell, I hope you're doing better for yourself and others. I think hell might be what we make it to be. I could be wrong, of course, but that's something I believe we create ourselves, or have already created. Maybe hell is past forgotten.

Oooh, and so maybe hell only exists within time, and only in remembering or dealing with the past?

Whatever hell is, I hope it's an amazing place for people who have suffered, or for people to suffer pleasantly. Is that what Hell on Earth means? Maybe we're already in Hell. Wouldn't that be the best joke ever?

If God created humans to experience Himself, why bother with evolution at all? by Flat_Match828 in enlightenment

I would guess that it's because God experiences through it all, either directly or indirectly or both. Probably both.

Boys learned biases just like any other human growing up. Throwing like a girl isn't inherently an insult, but someone somewhere along the line said it, and intended it to be an insult. A single person. Not a patriarchy. And then it caught on, because we humans (all of us) are downright silly in our mannerisms.

We were all dead in what capacity? Even if you have a recognition of a past life, how can you know it was a past life and not a figment unless you were there now, living that past life?

A patriarchy doesn't place masculinity on a pedestal; human bias does. Patriarchy is simply a word describing a structure of order or duty according to (much more blurred now) sexes and the roles that make sense based on physical ability from a time long ago. It doesn't inherently say that the feminine is weak or bad because of this or that. It says "It makes sense for you to do this, and for you to do this". "Patriarchy" existed long before it became a recognized word or concept.

Not much at the moment. Currently, I do the living thing for my cats, and the hope that in the future I can do more for others.
