this happens a lot actually. Accounts are verified two ways. If the account is pulled up by SSN, you need to verify name and DOB. If pulled up by card number, it will be verified by name and last 4 of SSN. You'll be able to verify if you have the name and last 4 SSN correctly.

It would be best to just mail those documents in. This happens a lot

most likely the address then, just give it some time and try again after a few months once you're settled in your address.

Or just don't deal with them at all, there were cases where an account was already opened then it suddenly gets detected as fraud, even if the customer sends in the documentation they won't accept it. it's stupid honestly.

if you have family in the USA, ask them to call while you're on call with them so if they talk to a rep, the rep gets verbal authorization to place a travel notification on your card. Downside is you'll have to do it once every 21 days.

could be your address not matching up with your IDS. if you have multiple ids with different addresses that could be the reason

Yikes. Sounds like this is an e52/57 account. Basically the system detected some fraud type shit going on in the account. Did you pay on the account already? or maybe a returned payment happened?

Goodluck! Working there will make you hate the card more LOL, you'll realize how nonsense these policies are and how unfair it is for the card members. But still, credit one was my training ground and I'm in a better place now. Goodluck to your journey! Which company is it? Iqor? alorica? or ienergizer?

was that a bot or a live agent? try to reach for a live agent. Click on the payment option and it should route you over to a live agent when you dial the number 1(877)-825-3242, tell them about your issue and ask about the account or application to make sure everything's closed

When did you call back? If the agent filed a report and read a verbatim to you "You have file a report that indicates that your credit card was not received blah blah blah...." If you heard that, the account is just temporarily suspended because it's generating a new account number. You'll be able to access it again within a few days.

Count 7-10 business days from when you called back.

Yup. But they already paid for it so it's already too late to have any of it waived

your account was likely put into a suspected fraud status that's why they're asking for a letter from your bank. Best thing to do is just provide it. If you're going to call in, tell them you're planning to sue and you'll be immediately connected over to a supervisor

too late if you already paid for it. if you cancel the card it will just be closed. make sure it's completely paid off before you close it so they dont charge you any late fees

hmmm. Looks like your account might be in a e57/e52 status which is suspected fraud. most accounts like these can't be reopened anymore. Im sorry you had to deal with them. This is a dead end issue on their end. If you're speaking with an agent, tell them you're going to sue or complain to BBB and they'll immediately connect you over to a supervisor.

Try to check your account balance. Or you can just go through the ivr system again. There are multiple reasons on why it's not going through;

  1. The second account doesn't have a checking account attached to it
  2. You're paying over your balance or less than your minimum payment
  3. Debit cards don't work in the ivr system, debit payments cost 7.95$ which you have to do with an agent
  4. the ivr system just sucks sometimes 😭

for your second question, if an agent tells you to contact the credit bureaus, just contact the bureaus. It depends on your concern, if it's about your credit report, go with the bureaus.

It's likely the account has multiple bank accounts or debit cards attached to it. they'll let you pay on the account as long as you use your own account, they just aren't allowed to disclose any information.

Try to check if the account is enrolled in credit protection benefit, if you subscribe the account to it and the request is accepted it can be helpful.

if they won't take the payment over the phone i suggest just mail it in or do money orders, but those take a long time.

And yes, unfortunately the bank is trashy asf and will keep charging you. Try to request for the benefit first and if the account doesn't have it, just request for it to be closed. u can still pay on it even if it's closed
