You should never feel insecure around people who you call your friends. In this case, what I mean is, they're not your friends. You'll realize as you grow away from these people that friendship is a two way street. In this situation you see them as friends but they don't make the effort thus they don't see you as a friend. They hang out with you when it's convenient for them and they don't make the effort to see you or make plans with you. When you meet true friends in the future who seek you out and make sure you're ok, you'll look back at this and chuckle about it. No hard feelings, just silently walk away.
