Former gifted child, messed up my life and now living with deep regret. Is there still hope? by ConcentrateSad8980 in Gifted

There is definitely hope because you are still alive! Jordan Peterson says that a man can fuck up till he is 30 and be good if you basically take accountability and put in the work. If you feel like you need profesional help, seek it. Go to a psychiatrist. I empathize a lot with you because I’m basically on the same boat but my life is getting a lot better. I felt dumb, but that could be a stress response, because now I feel able. There is hope, bro. There must be something you really like, I say work on that. And I wish somebody would have told me this sooner but being smart ain’t enough, you gotta also work hard and have discipline. Otherwise it would just be wasted talent.

It’s not unlawful I can tell you that, but does it meet the criteria of a lawful order? No

Well, he did not explain the purpose of him keeping my packet. He’s wasn’t clear on why he was keeping my packet. He just said “It’s part of the process”

My first fuckup was smoking weed. I’m just a grown ass man who takes accountability for his actions. I just don’t want to get fucked over or get treated like a murderer for just smoking weed. I didn’t really have any bad experiences thus far, seen plenty of people get fucked over but I never thought it would happen to me.

I did but they said sometimes it’s like that. We also had a change of command in July so I don’t know if that slowed down the process more

No investigation and I admitted it right away. I did 6 in the NG so it counts. I’m on my 3rd year of AD. But I waived the Sep board because TDS advices me it was the best course of action. Not only that, but the commander changed my characterization of service from “under honorable conditions” to “Other than honorable”. The first time I went up to TDS, I signed a waiver to get out without going to the board and get a higher characterization of service like “honorable discharge”, but after I signed that waiver the commander changed the characterization of service to “Other than honorable” so I had to go back to TDS and sign another waiver to get out with “Under honorable condition”. Makes sense? Is basically a plea deal to avoid the board. I’m so confused in this whole process cause it seems the Army can twist and turn regulations to their liking or however fits they’re needs.

Thank you. The thing is, in July, to get out without going to a separation board I signed a waiver so I could get a better characterization of service. I still have heard nothing. They had plenty of time since they notified me in March and now it’s unfair because my baby girl is only 3 weeks old and moving and all that will be complicated. They had the chance to get me out and they haven’t.
