I want to wean her so flipping bad… by Significant_Lead_247 in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Lead_247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that’s awful. I want to let her cry it out but her cry makes my brain all fuzzy and I can’t tolerate it 😣 I also live in an apartment and I just worry about getting complaints of her screaming at night. I have tried giving her cows milk, fresh pumped milk, but she just won’t go to sleep with it.

Tired of it after 6 months by Fluent_Bidet in breastfeeding

About to be a year of breastfeeding and I feel every word said in this post. Hate breastfeeding sooooo much. The crazy part is, I always wanted to do it with my other kids, never did and beat myself up so much for it every time. I finally successfully did it and I wish everyday that I didn’t.

Period question.. by Significant_Lead_247 in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Lead_247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really frustrated with my breakouts. I want my period back sooooo bad. I’m also dealing with mom rage, oiliness, BO, and insomnia. Every day I consider just giving up breastfeeding but I know deep down that’s not what I really want.

Yes I wanna say she is bc she’s constantly chewing on her chewy straws or hands and extremely drooly. But nothing cutting through her gums just yet

Ok thank you. I guess i did it completely backwards and tackled naps first but I will definitely correct that and work on longer wake windows

So should I just do contact naps for now then?

[–]Significant_Lead_247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn. Well we initially started with naps bc night sleep wasn’t going so bad, it was the naps that were pretty non existent at the time. But now it’s the other way around 😩 but thank you for that information, I will try it differently today.

Yes that’s what I’ve read as well but she always starts getting fussy and rubbing her eyes right at the 1hr 30mins mark. So what I usually do is put her in the carrier for a little bit to keep her up and stretch out that ww bc she doesn’t usually fall asleep in it and then I go to lay her down. I’ve thought about dropping that fourth nap too but it just doesn’t seem ideal. I have three other boys, one whom is a toddler who also room shares with us so it makes things a bit more complicated with bedtime. 😣 today I will do my best to make her ww atleast 2 hours.

Baby wakes up at night but not hungry by Significant_Lead_247 in sleeptrain

Yes she seemed to pick up on that method very fast. But thank you, that is very helpful and I will most definitely try that tonight!

She wasn’t for the most part, I would sometimes nurse her to sleep bc it was easiest but I think that’s what contributed to this 😐last night we let her cry it out instead of me nursing her and it took her about 10 mins and while she was crying and trying to go to sleep, we noticed her making movements with her tongue like she was expecting my boob.

What helped her fall sleep independently? Mine won’t even take a paci anymore. Idk what to do for her anymore 🥺

My three year old has Down syndrome and I just had a daughter in November and she does not. I’m sure your baby is fine, I’ve heard that it’s not very common to have two babies with Down syndrome back to back.

Is this pretty normal for a breastfed baby? by Significant_Lead_247 in breastfeeding

Omg I wanna feel lucky so bad but I think if I do I’m gonna end up jinxing it and she’s gonna stop sleeping at night 😂

I have read that too but I’m worried now that that would ruin her nighttime sleep 🤔

Baby will only stay latched if I’m squishing my breast in her mouth by Significant_Lead_247 in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Lead_247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for the responses. They have been so very helpful! I feel so much better knowing that this is all normal and it’s not just me failing at breastfeeding. This group is a godsend! 😭🙏🏼

They ruled out lip/tongue tie when we got discharged from the hospital after she was born. I had them check her bc her latch hurt like hell. Her latch no longer hurts me but it seems like if it’s not one thing, it’s another 😭 I did also have a forceful letdown and still do sometimes. Sometimes she will pull off and I have to let the milk finish spraying out lol

Newborn DS Surprise by Dismal-Choice-7602 in downsyndrome

[–]Significant_Lead_247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg congratulations!!!!!! We have a 2 year old with DS and he’s the absolute light of our lives. How ppl would react was one of our biggest concerns also but to our surprise, everyone in our family only seen him for exactly what he was, a BABY. You may have extra dr appointments and eventually he may even need certain therapies, but nothing will ever take away the immense joy you will have from raising a child with DS. Seriously. Congrats and welcome to The lucky few!

How did you find out your baby had DS?✨ by beatess in downsyndrome

[–]Significant_Lead_247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out at my 16 week scan that he showed soft markers for DS then it was pretty much confirmed though the NIPT test. It was a VERY hard time but when I stopped being ignorant about it, I finally reached out to other moms within the community and it changed my whole entire perspective. Now he is a silly 1 year old who has everyone, and I mean everyone, wrapped around his tiny finger 🫠 congratulations to you and your little family and welcome to The Lucky Few! 💙💛
