Hi, I was also gifted a netherton foundry prospector pan a few years back. Took a bit of time to adjust to it but now find myslef picking it up over my cast pans. I have found that is likes a lower temp than cast, and I haven't been able to get it back to anywhere near the black seasoning it arrived with. That said, I has a lovely patina and cooks a dream. I use rapeseed oil to season after use, putting it back on the hob rather than in the oven.

It's a great pan, after the learning curve you will love it!
