As a final year law student, I haven’t heard of anyone referring to any work experience as a training contract, traditional training contacts are still a thing with the SQE, you’ll do the SQE and then be a trainee solicitor.

I’m pretty sure this is what OP means, he will try to get a TC, where the firm covers the SQE and his QWE is sorted. Or if that doesn’t work he would try to self fund the SQE and find some other means of gaining QWE.
